4 S.T.A.B.L.E. Cardiac Module 2003 $50 includes the price of a book $15 if the participant has a book or wants to use a loaner book The S.T.A.B.L.E. - Cardiac Module provides general guidelines for the assessment and stabilization of neonates with suspected congenital heart disease (CHD). Prompt, effective and appropriate care of neonates with severe CHD can reduce secondary organ damage, improve short and long-term outcomes, and reduce morbidity and mortality. This information is presented in three sections. The first section of the module reviews the physical exam of neonates with suspected CHD. The second section details the anatomic features, clinical presentation and initial stabilization of neonates with CHD, and emphasizes differentiation of cardiac from pulmonary disease. Specific heart lesions are covered in detail including those that are cyanotic ductal dependent, cyanotic not-ductal dependent, and left outflow tract obstructed ductal dependent lesions. The final section discusses modifications to the six S.T.A.B.L.E. assessment components that are necessary when caring for neonates with suspected or confirmed CHD. Awarding CE for this program included attendance at 80% of the course and completion of the course evaluation form. This 4-hour course has been awarded 3.5 CE. S.T.A.B.L.E. Program Physical and Gestational Age Assessment of the Newborn 2nd Edition $25 This module supplements the S.T.A.B.L.E Program Learner Course or can be used as a stand-alone course for interns, residents, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other health care providers. Highly visual to help students learn everything from Ballard gestational age assessment to a head-to-toe physical examination and immediate stabilization of neonates with various surgical conditions including omphalocele, gastroschesis, tracheoesophageal fistula, midgut volvulus, subgaleal hemorrhage, and more. S.T.A.B.L.E. Learner Module, 6th Edition $70 includes participant manual $30 if participant has their own 6th edition Learner STABLE manual S.T.A.B.L.E. targets the post-resuscitation care of sick neonates and is therefore considered by many experts to be the follow-up, complementary program to the American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). S.T.A.B.L.E. serves as a concise educational tool to organize the myriad of details necessary to stabilize and care for sick infants. The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program involves an eight-hour interactive didactic presentation by an expert in neonatal nursing or medicine. The S.T.A.B.L.E. Programis the widely accepted neonatal post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization educational and clinical tool. S.T.A.B.L.E. stands for the six assessment parameters covered in the program: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support for the family. S.T.A.B.L.E. is considered by neonatal educators to be the follow-up, complementary program to the AAP/AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program. This 1-day class earns 7.5 Nursing CE. Intro to Maternal Fetal Monitoring $50 This course is primarily for a nurse who is new to fetal monitoring. The course will cover basic maternal and fetal physiology, nursing assessment of the maternal fetal status, standardized terminology as it applies to fetal heart rate pattern interpretation, interventions based on observed fetal heart rate tracings and essentials of clear and concise communication (both written and verbal) when discussing maternal fetal status. Through didactic instruction and active participation in simulated cases, the students will enhance their skills and clinical decision-making abilities for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary arrest, acute arrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes. Students are taught to use the following: Basic Life Support (BLS) Survey High-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) ACLS Survey ACLS algorithms Effective resuscitation team dynamics Immediate post-cardiac arrest care The goal of the ACLS Provider Course is to improve outcomes for adult patients with cardiac arrest and other cardiopulmonary emergencies through provider training. (American Heart Association) The Obstetrical component has been added to the AHA ACLS course to highlight the physiologic changes in the pregnant patient that alter the patient s response to resuscitation. Prerequisite / Pre-work You must have a current ACLS manual to participate in the class. Obtain a 2010 Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider Manual. Review and understand the information in the ACLS Provider Manual; pay particular attention to the 10 cases in Part 5. This is a course requirement, and you will not be admitted to class without them. The ACLS Provider Course does not teach algorithms, ECG rhythm recognition, or pharmacology. We strongly suggest you come to class prepared. Although, as stated, the class does not teach ECG interpretation, there is a session provided for review of ECG rhythm strips. You must attend the entire length of the course to meet completion requirements. Bring your 2010 ACLS Provider Manual to each class as you will need it during each lesson in the course.
