1 University of Colorado Denver Continuing Engineering Education Program APPLICATION AND ENROLLMENT DEADLINE Please have your University of Colorado Denver (UCD) Application and your Continuing Engineering Education Program (CEEP) Class Enrollment completed by Friday, April 1, 2016, before 5pm; this is two weeks before the course start date. Visit our CEEP Website at for detailed instructions on how to complete this procedure. It is entirely free for our non-credit students to Apply to UCD and Enroll in a CEEP class. In addition, there are no penalties or fees for late applications/enrollments, however, if you do apply/enroll later than 4/1/16 the class may be full, you may miss valuable class material, and/or we may not have your class materials on-hand. In short, apply and enroll ON TIME! CLASS SCHEDULE NEW EXAM SPECIFICATIONS started with the 2016 exams (after 1/11/16) The following is a tentative schedule; changes and/or updates may occur before the course start date (instructors, campus location, dates & times, etc.). Changes/Updates/Adjustments are very rare, however, emergencies do happen, an instructor may find they need more time to cover a certain topic; or we may have to shift to another location, due to rooming conflicts. Any enrolled students always receive up-to-date information/announcements through their enrollment and university address(es). Monday, April 18 Project Management Overview, Integration Management, Scope Management Tuesday, April 19 Time Management, Cost Management Wednesday, April 20 Quality Management, Human Resources Management, Communication Management Thursday, April 21 Risk Management, Procurement Management, Stakeholder Management, Review and Summary QUICK NOTE This is one of three Project Management Courses CEEP offers in this series (NCES 8988, NCES 8989, and NCES 8999). This particular version (NCES 8989) covers the primary project management knowledge and skills only. Em: Heidi.Utt@UCDenver.edu, Ph: , Web: 1
2 WHAT THIS COURSE IS ALL ABOUT Our Comprehensive Project Management with PMP Preparation course explores project management knowledge, tools, and techniques for successful on-the-job application. It is ideal for any student looking to fully understand and develop the core competency known by Project Management Professionals, and for those preparing for certification in project management. Participants learn how to decipher and use globally accepted best practices in the PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) for project success. We will help you pass the exam on the first try! Our success rate is 99%. This highly interactive workshop is facilitated by a PMP certified instructor, and includes numerous opportunities for skill mastery. We limit the number of participants to 15, so everyone has the opportunity to apply new knowledge and tools to their own real-life projects during the classroom experience. Learning in an interactive classroom, where we encourage students to ask questions, is far more effective and successful than studying on your own. Do you want to pass the Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM ) and/or the Project Management Professional (PMP ) Certification Exam? It seems like a simple question, and other reference materials will help you. However, learning in an interactive classroom, where we encourage students to ask questions, is far more effective and successful than studying on your own. With example problems and solutions presented by a subject matter expert in each discipline, this course prepares students for Project Management Institute s (PMI ) certifications. WHERE THE VALUE IS IN THIS COURSE As well as providing additional problem and solution practice, we supply a committed setting for developing professional relationships with other highly qualified students, which in-turn creates study groups for even further comprehension. Overall, our students establish a deeper understanding of the type of questions presented on the exams. We teach our students how to apply extremely valuable knowledge, concepts, plus tools and techniques for passing the exams. Instant Purposefulness: Result-oriented approach for successful project management Duplicable processes for consistent success Practical tools for immediate on-the-job application Confidence to implement project management best practices Effective management of people, scope, deadlines, and budget Immediate Benefits: Twenty-Eight (28) applicable units for PMP and CAPM certification Increased Return on Investment (ROI) Mitigation of risks to success More cohesive and cooperative project team Achievement of project goals and deadlines Measurable success Em: Heidi.Utt@UCDenver.edu, Ph: , Web: 2

WHAT OUR PREVIOUS STUDENTS ARE SAYING The following statements come directly from our class/instructor/ceep evaluations: Tiffany did a great job of mixing up the teaching styles, tones, activities, and learning opportunities. I liked the overall pace of the course and getting to work in groups on real projects, we were doing. This class met my objectives and requirements. Creating the Project Management Plan, plus practicing each knowledge area and tools was very helpful. The course presentation was very good, and the team projects were great. Very interactive; I felt safe to ask questions and work as a team. The interactive class format, regarding instruction, was the best part of the course. There was a good pace, which allowed coverage of a ton of information. Every topic was excellent; I thought it was a great class. Scope and Schedule Planning we hit this topic early in class, and referred to it often. COURSE SCHEDULE AND LOGISTICS Four Days, April 18-21, 2016; from 9:00am to 5:15 with a one-hour lunch break; Held at the Auraria Campus in Downtown Denver; Detailed information on the Building and Classroom assignment announced to enrolled students one week before start date.
