4 pascom alarm server For an effective and efficient emergency alarm system In case of an emergency, every second matters for the life to be saved. The alerting process is becoming more and more prominent, because a fast alarm transmission can avert greater damage. The pascom alarm server helps you to minimize this time period considerably and to maximize your efficiency. Saving up to 95% in time Often life-sustaining seconds are wasted by manually notifying the responsible professionals. With our specially developed alarm server it is possible to automaticlly send up to 30 event-related notifications simultaneously. This corresponds to up to 95% time savings. 4/12

5 The System The pascom alarm server is based on a client-server architecture and with its modular system we can customize it to fit your needs perfectly - an affordable and easily upgradeable system. Due to its different interfaces, it can be integrated into your existing technical infrastructure without any problems. Stability, reliability and security are the minimum requirements fulfilled by the pascom alarm server. Uninterrupted power supply, watchdog monitoring, remote maintenance and security logging are a must have for every alarm system. Operation In case of an emergency signal sent from an internal or external alarm sensor, the alarm server independently contacts both internal and external rescue teams and informs them via text message or spoken message of the situation. Optionally, when the escalation plan is set in motion, the alarm messages can be sent to external phones/ GSM, web, text messaging or as faxes. As a further safety device the system keeps detailed logs of all events as evidence and for statistical evaluation. In case of an alarm the ringtone can be changed to either 'normal' or 'urgent'. Depending on the configuration of your telephone system, the system also provides you with options such as continuous tone, call interruption or intrusion. In the standard solution the participants name appears on the phone display, the appropriate oral information in form of a set alarm text will be played. For optimal security you can optionally enable the multiline function, which allows you to notify a person even during a phone call provided that the specific telephone has not activated call forwarding. In order to provide maximum security a predefined number of emergency calls has to be acknowledged after an alarm notification. If an alarm is not acknowledged the system can contact the person again after a set time. Escalation plan In case the number of alarm acknowledgements falls below a defined minimum the escalation plan becomes effective. This means further participants can be connected. 6 Alarm transmitter The modular design of the system provides you with the opportunity to individually incorporate it into your already existing system. Alarm contacts The simplest type of alarm triggering is by using potential-free contacts such as relays or alarm buttons. Remote activation via telephone The alarm can also be triggered by identification via PIN code after calling an alarm number from a hardline or mobile phone. IT-network Using TCP / IP protocols, the alarm server can easily connect to your existing network (e.g. BMS) and autonomously contact the people responsible in case of specific emergencies. Personal alarm If a personal alarm is triggered the connection to the pascom alarm server can provide rapid and efficient help. System alerting Naturally it is possible to start an emergency call directly at the server or a server client. 6/12

7 Ready for any kind of emergency The pascom alarm server is ready for any kind of alarm. Medical emergencies: It is of greatest importance to not only contact the rescue and emergency resuscitation teams in time, but also provide them with the most essential informations as fast as possible. Technical problems: Equipment failures or technical failures can often draw disastrous consequences. To avoid or prevent serious damage a incident-driven selective alarm call to the people responsible is absolutely essential. Danger alarms such as fire or burglary: Dangers such as a fire or a break-in must be recognized by the already installed technical equipment and immediately forwarded to the alarm server. A reliable notification of the fire department, the police, the security service or other authorities is in a situation like that of great importance. Evacuation: In case of an emergency all people currently in the building need to be informed and briefed on the upcoming evacuation. Therefore, the warning and instruction messages of the alarm server are programmable in various different languages to help and reach all people. Other services: The system also provides services such as an automated reminder call as all as a daily wake-up service. 7/12 We simplify your processes!

8 Alarm receiver The top priority of an alarm system besides triggering the alarm as fast as possible must be the timely notification of the corresponding group of people. Because of this the pascom alarm server supports both audible and visual alarms. The ringtone can be changed to either 'normal' or 'urgent'. For example, the following media can be contacted: Alerting individuals and groups: Informing an individual person or an entire group of people responsible in a specific case of emergency, which you defined beforehand, is easy and userfriendly with the alarm server. Depending on the situation different communicational channels for individuals or groups can be chosen. If one of the alarms is not acknowledged, for example via the internal telephone, then the system automatically sends a notification with the next medium on the list. Acknowledgement: In order to provide maximum security a predefined number of emergency calls has to be acknowledged. The alarm can only be acknowledged by either answering the call or by additional input of a personal PINcode. 9 Administration In management, processing and analysis the system supports you with its Windows interface. The required training for your employees will be reduced to a minimum. Due to the client/server architecture of the alarm server, you can change your data directly on the server or any other personal computer connected to the building network. As an added safety feature the system design provides you with the opportunity to analyze the numerous evaluation programs and its detailed log on any emergencies or disturbances in the system. 11 pascom contact box Monitoring of the alarm server The pascom contact box is used to monitor the alarm server and for reading and setting of alarms. It consists of a CPU module and up to 8 I / O cards, each I / O card has 8 outputs and 24 inputs and can be connected via RS232 or RS485 to the alarm server.
