3 Become A Part of PP&C Production Planning and Control (PP&C) is a key support organization that interfaces daily with the Lockheed Martin development and production functions. All Production information filters through PP&C for analysis and subsequent loading into the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system for execution. The PP&C organization is integrated with the Supply Chain through four major functions: Program Planning, Operations Planning, Material & Traffic Control and Operations Systems. Program Planning work s with Procurement, Manufacturing and Program Management to develop plans to execute customer requirements. These plans include long and short term capacity resource and execution planning consisting of developing lot size strategies, time-phased requirements and storage coordination with the program team/customers. Operations Planning works closely with Operations Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to execute the program schedule and manage the budget. This includes providing status and expediting or creating work around plans to meet schedules. Material & Traffic Center provides timely service to programs and tasks through receiving, shipping, storing and moving parts/equipment. This center is equipped with state-of-the-art wireless mobile work stations, an automated storage and retrieval system and a compact storage system. Receiving, inspection, storage and shipping are located in the same area with lean inbound/outbound flow. Operations Systems works with internal customers to enhance existing applications by designing and developing systems that enable all of PP&C to proactively track status and identify constraints and issues. 3

8 Training Opportunities ØAPICS CPIM: PP&C offers the APICS (The Association for Operations Management) Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) program onsite which provides associates with the ability to understand and evaluate production and inventory activities. ØLean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt Certification: Associates are given the opportunity to enroll in onsite courses to develop process improvement methodologies. ØSupply Chain focused process improvement teams: Unique avenue for PP&C associates to interact with a diverse group of individuals for a common goal of continuous improvement. ØCross training and job rotations: Rotations and cross training are available to all associates in order to facilitate further growth and learning within the organization. ØBody of Knowledge training: Courses offered throughout the year to enhance and develop on the job skills. ØMentoring: One-on-one career development or skills development mentorship offered to all associates. ØProgram Lead Development Program: Offers training for current and potential program leads in order to enhance standardization and cross training among programs. 8

10 Role Descriptions Operations/Program Planner ØBill of Material Planner: At the start of the supply chain, a BOM planner coordinates with Engineering, the Change Board Representative and Program Scheduler to create and maintain Bills of Material in PP&C s MRP system. ØBuy Planner: Coordinates with Procurement and Operations Management to determine appropriate time phased plan for procured parts. Utilizing MRP reports, buy planners follow actions in the supply chain to ensure material is ordered and delivered to meet production requirements, the subsequent process of the supply chain. ØCenter Manager: Overall responsibility for cost, schedule, and production status in a Manufacturing Center which supports all programs (i.e. Machine Operations Center, Optics Center, Fire Control Factory, Microelectronics Center). ØChange Board Representative: Involved in all aspects of the supply chain, the representative coordinates with a cross-functional team for implementation plan in support of new or changed engineering. Communicates the impact, suggests potential solutions and implements change. ØEnterprise Manager: Overall functional responsibility for entire PP&C organization at all sites across the Missiles and Fire Control business unit. 10 Ø Make Planner: Coordinates with Manufacturing and Operations Management to determine appropriate lot sizing strategy for make assemblies, analyzes requirements and executes the MRP plan by releasing work orders, ensures implementation of engineering changes to assemblies, and provides timely status to ensure operating schedules are met. Delivery of the product to the customer is the last part of the supply chain.

11 ØMaster Scheduler: Responsible for the oversight of internal operating plan schedules associated with a production operations center while considering the entire supply chain impact. ØMission Area Manager: Overall responsibility for all PP&C activities and personnel development pertaining to a specific group of programs with common missions. ØProduction Operations Center Manager: Overall responsibility for all PP&C activities that go through all Manufacturing Centers. ØProgram Lead: Overall responsibility for the oversight of all PP&C activities on the program. Responsibilities include management of the entire supply chain of the program, from program start-up to program closeout. Other management responsibilities include development of assigned personnel. ØProgram Scheduler: Continuing through the supply chain, the program scheduler utilizes the BOMs to coordinate with cross-functional program teams to incorporate production schedules based on hardware requirements. These requirements are then used to integrate the part numbers identified in the BOM and financial accounting structures for entry into the MRP system. Ø Site Manager: Overall functional responsibility for PP&C organization at an assigned Missiles and Fire Control site. Strategically focuses on processes, staffing, personnel development, systems, budgeting and all other support functions required for PP&C associates to be successful. 11

Additional responsibilities include overseeing testing and compatibility of hardware/software for applications supported, coordinating changes to enterprise systems, and estimating impacts brought on by new hardware and operating systems. Advises on new techniques and estimated costs associated with new or revised programs, equipment and utilities. Manages and controls labor, material and processing budgets and expenditures associated with supporting a large portion of MFC sites. ØComputer System Analyst Manager: Manages and directs analysis of internal customers needs to determine equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems. Additional responsibilities include overseeing testing and compatibility of hardware/software for applications supported, coordinating changes to enterprise systems, and estimating impacts brought on by new hardware and operating systems. Advises on new techniques and estimated costs associated with new or revised programs, equipment and utilities. 14 In each area training was provided which gave me the skills I needed to be successful. 15 ØComputer System Analyst or Applications Analyst: Primary focus is analyzing and interpreting internal customers needs, and determining equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems. Additional responsibilities may include hardware/software testing for applications supported, coordinates changes to enterprise systems, and analyzes new hardware and operating systems to determine impact to existing or proposed systems. Advises on new techniques and estimated costs associated with new or revised programs, equipment and utilities. Ø Programmer Analyst: Primary focus is on coding, production data extractions and data manipulation. Additional responsibilities may include building a graphical user interface (GUI) to meet specific user needs, creating documents defining user requirements, software documentation, user guides, help files and assisting in user training. 15

22 Join Us ØOperations Leadership Development Program (OLDP): OLDP is a 2-year rotational program designed for high potential candidates who aspire to take on future leadership positions within the Operations function. OLDP will consist of four 6-month rotational assignments, Technical Development Curriculum (TDC) classes, Leadership Development Conferences (LDCs) and cross functional business projects.
