6 Company Profile Company Venezia Terminal Passeggeri S.p.A. (V.T.P. S.p.A.) was founded in 1997 by the Venice Port Authority. It manages 10 multifunctional terminals, 1 provisions storehouse, 5 parking lots and 7 quays across the areas of Marittima, St. Basilio and Riva dei Sette Martiri, providing high quality services to any ships (cruise, hydrophoils, catamarans) calling at the Port of Venice. The shareholders of Venezia Terminal Passeggeri S.p.A are the following: APVS S.r.l. company owned by Venice Port Authority and by Veneto Sviluppo, operational company of the Veneto Region, (53,00%), Finpax S.r.l. (22,18%), SAVE S.p.A. (22,18%), Venice Chamber of Commerce (2,64%). Thanks to big investments (over 65M Euro) made by the Company between 1997 and 2013 for improving the efficiency of the port facilities, reducing the impact of the port activities on the environment and enhancing travelers comfort and safety, the Port of Venice welcomed over the years more than 23 million passengers, thus ensuring a prominent position among the best worldwide cruise ports and destinations. Ferries In 2013 the Port of Venice welcomed passengers to/from Greece for a total amount of 213 calls. 13 MBT (Multipurpose Boarding Tower) SBB (SHIP BOARDING BRIDGE) The new SBB (Ship Boarding Bridge), designed as a traditional gangway, allows passengers to board and disembark from a ship with a boarding height ranging from m to m The MBT (Multipurpose Boarding Tower) is an innovative multi-purpose boarding tower that optimizes the embarking/ disembarking operations of passengers from/to cruise ships, thanks to the use of a system of elevators linking the dock, the terminal and the vessel, regardless of the height of the boarding ramp. Its limited overall dimensions on the quay allow to carry out luggage delivery and handling operations in the safest way. Placed at walking distance from the embarkation, the parking areas of V.T.P. are actively guarded. Durine the days when ships are embarking/disembarking (homeport). A shuttle bus service is available, connecting the Terminal 109/110, 123, Isonzo 1/2 with the People Mover stop. 17 SERVICES FOR PASSENGERS WITH REDUCED MOBILITY Venezia Terminal Passeggeri S.p.A. is sensitive to passengers with special needs and makes every effort to assure that their embarkation and disembarkation is quick and convenient. Cruise Terminals have no architectural barriers and are suitable for reduced mobility passengers, including wheelchair users. Facilities for the reduced mobility passengers include: Assistance seats; Raised step treads outside the building to assist blind passengers, with entrance ramps for wheelchair users; Elevators suitable for wheelchairs users; Doors for wheelchairs users; Reduced mobility men s and ladies toilets are located by the waiting room of the embarking area; Shuttle Bus to/from Cruise Terminal- Ship (upon request); Parking areas. 18 port security Venezia Terminal Passeggeri S.p.A. has systematically implemented all the measures envisaged in the Port Facility Security Plan by adopting technological instruments for an effective control and prevention system in compliance with international security regulations (ISPS Code/EC Regulation 725/2004). Among the measures undertaken are: passenger, baggage and vehicle screening procedures; security patrols; creation of restricted areas; personnel identification procedures; access control; installation of surveillance equipments. Nonetheless, Venezia Terminal Passeggeri S.p.A. continues to undertake several initiatives to implement innovative security solutions that enhance and safeguard the movement of passengers. In its activity it benefits also from working in partnership with the port users and local and State authorities. An average of 40 security guards are every day engaged in port access controls, quay gate access controls, passenger and baggage screening, video - surveillance and monitoring patrol operations. Barriers and SECURITY Equipment Venezia Terminal Passeggeri S.p.A. has implemented barriers and security equipment on facilities, including perimeter fencing, optical intrusion detection devices and closed-circuit camera surveillance including a waterside surveillance capability. All terminals are equipped with X-ray stations for hand luggage and luggage control, MD arches for the screening of embarking passengers, while 4 x-ray mobile vans equipped with MD Arches are available for screening transit passengers and their hand luggage. 19 Port SAFETY ENVIRONMENT & QUALITY Venezia Terminal Passeggeri S.p.A. has a strong commitment in the health and safety of all those who visit, work at or travel through its port facilities. A First Aid Station is available within the port premises, providing medical assistance, an ambulance, defibrillator and other medical equipment during the operation hours. Venezia Terminal Passeggeri S.p.A. steadily and considerably invests in infrastructure and technology to ensure that the port operations are carried out in the safest way and that all workplaces - quays, passenger terminals, covered and uncovered areas - are incident and injury free. The reorganization of the port road network has upgraded the quality of the internal traffic circulation both in terms of traffic measures and access controls, while the introduction of new pedestrian pathways, the division of the restricted operational areas from the open visitors areas and the increasing use of passenger boarding bridges has improved passengers safety and comfort when boarding and disembarking. Venezia Terminal Passeggeri S.p.A. is aware that a safety culture can be established and maintained only thanks to the cooperation with the whole Port community involved in the supply-chain management and with the ships crews. 26 terminal 109/110 Terminal 109/110, completing the infrastructural development of the Marittima Cruise Port, is the widest terminal of the Mediterranean dedicated to a single cruise ship. Inaugurated in April 2014, Terminal 109/110, a former warehouse, has been refurbished to become an independent Passenger station located in Tagliamento Quay, in order to fluently serve two cruise ships simultaneously berthed in front of Terminal 107/108 and in front of the renewed Terminal 109/110, respectively. Thanks to its dimension of square meters divided on two floors, Terminal 109/110 is the widest cruise facility of the Mediterranean with a standard - never reached so far - of 2 square meters of available surface for each passengers waiting to embark during the peak phases, fully limiting the anthropic pressure for each operational level. The refurbishment project, carried out in 12 months with an overall investment of 12 millions of Euros, follows the most qualified conservation standards, totally respecting the previous structure, under the control of the Venice Port Authority and of the Commission for the Safeguarding of Venice.
