5 Tourlock 4 GENERAL INFORMATION 1 Introduction This manual is written for the service and installation engineer, it provides information about: Operating the Product Electrical characteristics of the Product Maintenance of the Product Troubleshooting Please read this manual carefully, it contains information that will assist you with all aspects of installation and maintenance, including operation of electrical parts, so that a long and useful machine life can be achieved. This manual has been written with the maximum care and attention. Nevertheless, if certain parts are unclear to you or contain errors, you can contact the Boon Edam manufacturing facilities. When the power supply cannot be switched off, service and maintenance activities are to be undertaken only by trained engineers fully aware of potential danger involved. WARNING! 9 Tourlock 8 3 Technical description 3.1 General The Tourlock security door allows a continuous flow of authorized people whilst enduring that unauthorized people cannot enter. This high security door is designed to integrate with different kinds of authorisation systems, such as card readers or a biometric system. With a choice of several sophisticated security systems, the Tourlock establishes the highest level of security at your entrance. The Tourlock is a high security revolving door, existing of a rotating door-set, center column and close fitting curved walls. The brushes on the edge of the door wings make a draughtfree seal against the walls. The walls support an aluminium canopy structure above the Tourlock. The Tourlock is a four wing fully automatic revolving door and offers the advantage of simultaneous bi-directional authorized traffic. Tourlock 3.2 Drive system The Tourlock is controlled by a PLC that puts the door in motion by controlling the Frequency Inverter. The Frequency Inverter converts the mains power to the correct frequency and voltage. The rotation speed of the door is controlled by the frequency. The force of the door is controlled by the voltage. Voltage and current are linked. In case the voltage is set higher the current will increase as well. The current is converted into a torque by the motor, and determines the rotating force of the door-set. 3.3 Safety The Tourlock has several safety features. These safety features are placed at different places to protect the users. If one of these safety features is activated the door will stop immediately or switch to manual operation. 10 9 O M manual. 3.4 Security The Tourlock is available with two different security systems IR sensors Ceiling sensors create the basic security level and can be combined with other systems. The sensors check the segments for unauthorized entry. These sensors also can be used to start-up the movement of the automatic Tourlock. Standard direction detection ensures that the door-set is not pushed against the authorized revolving direction StereoVision 2* An option on four wing Tourlock door only. IR sensors can be used to start-up the movement of the automatic Tourlock. The Tourlock (four wing version) is available with StereoVision 2. StereoVision 2 exists of a one or two-way StereoVision 2 system. The Tourlock two-way has two StereoVision 2 systems, one for each passage direction. This means that the high security level is achieved in both passage directions. The Tourlock one-way has one StereoVision 2 system, for the passage through the door from the non-secured side to the secured side. This means that the high security level is achieved in only one direction. The passage in the other direction is checked only by Infrared sensors. Please note that the StereoVision 2 sensor system includes integrated Infrared technology provide additional information for the decision making process. Standard direction detection ensure that the door-set is not pushed against the authorized revolving direction. 3.5 Bullet resistant. On Special Order only, the Tourlock 180 is available with bullet resistant glass and profiles. Bullet resistant doors are manufactured using ballistic rated materials including ballistic rated doorwing glass, sidewall glass. The canopy, endposts, midposts and shaft are also lined with ballistic material to achieve a ballistic property. The speed and torque settings (reference section 10.5 and 10.6) of the bullet resistant door vary from those of a standard construction. Due to the weight and construction, the rotational speed is slower for safety, security and durability purposes. Version : TL / OM / BEInc / V001 Release :

11 Tourlock 10 4 Operating concept 4.1 Tourlock with Infra-Red sensors Tourlock with IR - Sensors The rest position of the door-set is position B. The door-set will always return to its rest position, first with normal speed and for the last twenty degrees before rest position with slow speed. In the rest position the door is automatically locked and typically the red signal-led illuminates. If the door is locked in the rest position it will only start up on two conditions: The user is authorized, for example by an access control system. The user steps in the Tourlock and activates the Infrared sensors. If a user steps into a rotating door, the door-set will continue to rotate for a further 180 degrees on two conditions: The user is authorized, for example by an access control system. The user is detected by the IR sensors. The Tourlock can remember a maximum of three authorisations, on each side (for example from an access control system). 12 11 O M manual Standard operation When an authorized person enters the Tourlock, the green signal-led on the stile illuminates, and an audible indicator is generated. The green signal-led illuminates as long as the door is ready for passage (approximately 9 sec.). The door will only rotate when a person is detected. After authorisation, the user is free to choose an available segment, as long as this is within 9 seconds after the illumination of the green LED, or two segments of rotation, which-ever comes first. The Tourlock will decide whether it rotates an extra segment (segment in front of the user is occupied) or the regular rotation (segment in front of the user is empty), but always in such a way that nobody gets locked in and the door is not rotating more than necessary. The user steps into the Tourlock and Infrared sensors will detect the person and the door-set will rotate. When the segment where the user stands is fully closed a booking signal is given to the access control system and the green signal-led goes out. The user leaves the door on the other side and the red LED-signal will illuminate. 13 Tourlock Tailgating I - Opposite Passage Detection When the door rotates because of an authorized entry, an unauthorized person steps into the Tourlock from the other side and the unauthorized person is detected by the Infrared sensors. When the unauthorized person has left the door it continues its cycle. If--during rotation--an unauthorized person steps into the door at the latest possible moment (door opening 20 ), the door will stop and immediately rotate back to the plus position ( ). The unauthorized person will have to leave the door on the side entered. Tailgating I Opposite Passage Detection Tailgating II (Tourlock ) - Unauthorized Follow Through When the door rotates because of an authorized entry, an unauthorized person steps into the second segment of the Tourlock from the same side and the unauthorized person is detected by the Infrared sensors, the door stops immediately in, or close to, the plus position ( ). The unauthorized person has to leave the door on the side he entered. The authorized user will have to leave the door as intended. When both persons have left the door, it will rotate to its rest position ( ). If--during rotation--an unauthorized person steps into the door at the latest possible moment (door opening 20 ), the door will stop and immediately rotate back to the plus position ( ). The unauthorized person will have to leave the door on the side entered. Tailgating II Unauthorized Follow Though Rotation detection switch If the door-set is rotating and someone or something prevents the door from properly rotating, the door will lock. An audible alarm will sound during this situation. Both signal LED's on the bent walls will flash red. Pressing the reverse buttons located on the mid-post will unlock the door and cause it to return to its proper resting position. Lillington, NC Version : TL / OM / BEInc / V001 (P): Release :

14 13 O M manual Fail safe In case of a power failure the door stops immediately. The door wings can be book-folded (collapsed) and or manually rotated. Note: An optional battery backup is available in the event of a power failure to keep the door online until power is restored. Dependent on the frequency of use, the Tourlock will keep its normal functionality for about 20 minutes. Fail safe Fail secure Option (Rigid Door-sets only)* In case of power failure and if the door is built with a fail secure lock, the door-set can be pushed manually to the fail secure position ( ) and will be locked in this position. The fail secure lock can be unlocked by means of manual unlocking* or by restoring the power. Note: Because a collapsing door-set is Fail Safe, this option is only available on Rigid Doorsets. When equipped with Stereovision 2 system (two way version shown below), the door utilizes the Stereovision 2 system to determine passage through the door in both directions. The user is detected by the IR sensors. The Tourlock can remember a maximum of three authorisations, on each side (for example from an access control system). Passage of two authorized users (one in each direction) is possible. When an authorized user steps into the door and activates the SRB (4.4.3 Safety Rail Bent wall (SRB) this leads to a loss of authorisation. 16 15 O M manual Standard operation In the locked standby position, the red signal-led illuminates. When a person is authorized, the green signal-led on the stile illuminates, and an audible signal is generated. The green signal-led illuminates as long as the door is ready for passage (approximately 9 sec.). The door will only rotate when a person is detected by the overhead start-up sensors. The user steps into the Tourlock and the Infrared sensors will detect the person. The door will start to rotate. If equipped, the optional StereoVision 2 system will determine if the user is alone and if there are no other suspicious conditions like large goods. When the segment where the user stands is fully closed a booking signal is given to the access control system and the green signal-led goes out. The door-set will complete its rotation and the user leaves the door on the other side and the red signal-led illuminates. 17 Tourlock Piggybacking If an unauthorized person steps into the Tourlock in the same segment as the authorized user, the StereoVision 2 sensor detects two persons and stops the door in the rest position ( ). The door will reverse to allow both persons to exit the door on the same side where they entered. This happens automatically, or a red reversing button can also be pressed to reverse the door. This button is installed on the post inside the segment where the persons are standing. When both persons have left the door, the door rotates to its rest position ( ). The authorisation is lost. 19 Tourlock Tourlock StereoVision 2 (One-way Detection). The working principle described in this paragraph is for the one way StereoVision 2 system. This one-way Stereovision 2 system only achieves the high security piggyback detection level on passages from the non-secure to secure side travel. Secure Side Activation Sensors (Out-going) Blocking Sensor s Stereovision 2 Sensor System Activation Sensors (In-going) Non-Secure Side Tourlock StereoVision 2 The general working conditions for Non-Secure to Secure traffic are identical to the working principle of a two-way StereoVision 2 system combined with Infrared sensors see paragraph 4.2. The general working principle for Secure to Non-Secure traffic are identical to the working principle of the Tourlock with overhead sensors see paragraph Piggybacking Piggybacking detection is only performed from the Non-Secure side to the secure side. When an unauthorized person steps into the Tourlock in the same segment as the authorized user, the Infrared sensors will not be able to detect if one or two persons are present and will therefore not stop the door. This is where the system differs in security level from StereoVision 2. Both the unauthorized person and the authorized user can leave the door as intended. 21 Tourlock Safety Fire Alarm* The building fire alarm system can be connected to the door. In case of a fire alarm the door stops immediately. The lighting stays on, the door wings can be book-folded (collapsed) and/or manually rotated. Fire alarm Fail safe In case of a power failure the door stops immediately. The door wings can be book-folded (collapsed) and or manually rotated. A battery backup is optional to prevent malfunction if a power failure occurs. 22 21 O M manual Safety Rail Bent wall (SRB) When the SRB is activated (inside or outside), the door will stop rotating immediately. The door-set will reverse automatically when the clearance between the door-set and the active safety rail is too narrow (door opening 22 ). This reversing will be done to the plus position ( ) and the cycle will be stopped. StereoVision 2 Activating the SRB momentarily (less than 0.5 sec.) will not lead to a loss of authorisation. Once the SRB is no longer activated, the door will start to rotate again. A longer activation of the SRB will lead to a loss of authorisation. 23 Tourlock User feedback Two color LED's (red/green) are installed on the end stile on the secured and non-secured side of the Tourlock. LED illuminates red (after initialization). Door is locked and in stand-by mode. LED illuminates green (after authorisation). Door is standby for max. 9 seconds or two segments of rotation. Door will rotate max. 180 degrees after activation of sensors. LED illuminates green continuously (free in, free out or both). Door is in free stand-by mode. Door will rotate for as long as the IR sensors are activated. LED flashes red. Alarm situation. For example when an unauthorized person is detected or SRB activation. 24 23 O M manual. 4.6 Control panel Standard Control panel The basic operation of the door is controlled by a series of key switches on the operating panel, which is located on the endpost located on the secured side of the door. The key switches have multiple functions: Card In/Out, Free Out, Free In and Out Card In/Out position, the door is controlled by means of an access control system in both directions. This is considered the normal Run position. Free Out, activation to exit from the secure side requires only that a person enter and be detected by the overhead sensor system. Entry into the secured area is controlled by means of an access control system. Free In and Out, activation to enter and exit require only that a person step into the door and be detected by the overhead sensor system. Note: In this position, all security (i.e., piggyback and tailgate detection) are disabled. Shaft Lock Off and On The Shaft lock Off position, the door is secured and functions via access control, locking and unlocking automatically. Full security remains intact. The Shaft lock On position, the door will immediately lock and ignore all access control signalling. Maintenance/Cleaning-Position Mode In the Maintenance position service and cleaning of the door can be performed. The alarms are suppressed in this mode. Reset Keyswitch Option for Stereovision 2 only The bottom keyswitch is on Stereovision doors only and used when the Stereovision2 System needs to be cleared. This is accomplished by turning the keyswitch to the right and hold it for 2 seconds, then return to the left. The following actions will take place: First the LED s on the endposts and midposts will turn off. Next, the Stereovision2 system will shut-down (this step takes approximately 45 seconds). Next, the doorset will rotate between 1 ½ to 2 revolutions and rest in the ( X ) restposition (approximately 10 seconds) Next, the door will sit in the ( X ) position until the Stereovision2 system fully initializes (60 seconds). When the Sereovision2 system has initialized, the LED s on the endposts and midposts will illuminate, the door will rotate approximately 180 degree and rest. It is now ready for use. Reset (7) - Potential free (non-latching) contact; for unlocking the door. The doorset can be pushed manually to the fail secure position. 26 25 O M manual. 4.7 Counters. The Tourlock is equipped with two counters situated above the control panel on the endpost located on the secured side of the door as shown in the picture below. Overall counter. This is the top counter and will show the total number of revolutions from the day the door was put into operation. Service counter. When the espagnolet lock is unlocked with the key, the rods can be moved upwards and downwards simultaneously into their locking points. Now the door-set is fixed in its rest position. It is impossible to start the Tourlock, as long as the door-set is locked by means of the espagnolet lock. Reversing speed (Hz) To ensure that the StereoVision 2 sensor works perfectly it is necessary that the normal door speed parameter (Pr. 04) is not adjusted higher than the default settings as shown in the table above (approx. 10 sec. per rotation). This is valid for all door diameters. It is possible to adjust the door speeds slower for customer preference. Note: Bullet resistant doors require slower speed settings for safety, security and durability. Ensure the settings are adjusted properly as noted in Standard and BR Parameter settings. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in improper operation or premature damage to the equipment. 9.6 Torque adjustments Normally it should not be necessary to change the basic parameter settings of a door. However, special conditions like a combination of a large door with heavy stainless steel cladding could make it necessary to change one or more of the basic settings. Check the torque of the door by trying to stop one of the door wings during rotating. Adjust the torque, if necessary, by adjusting the maximum voltage. Common values range from 100 to 150 volts; the maximum adjustable voltage is 255 volt. 9.7 Starting behaviour The base frequency has influence on the starting behaviour of the door. The maximum voltage is reached at this frequency. A lower value for base freqency means that at a low frequency a higher voltage (torque) is present. It is possible to decrease the value of base frequency, it is however necessary to check the maximum motor current before and after adjustment. When the base frequency is too low the current will increase, the result is that extra heat is generated which can lead to overheat. Normally it should not be necessary to lower the setting below the default value of 35Hz. The acceleration time 1 is of influence on the starting behaviour. A short acceleration time theoretically means that the door starts in a shorter time. A very short time however does have a negative influence on the starting behaviour. The door must be able to keep up with the increasing frequency. The best starting result is achieved when the frequency increases proportionally to the increasing speed of the door. E.g. if the door needs 1 second to reach its speed, an acceleration time of 1 second is the best adjustment. The same applies to the deceleration time. Version : TL / OM / BEInc / V001 Release :

41 Tourlock Deceleration The door-set decelerates when the frequency control switches over from high to slow speed. The duration of deceleration can be adjusted by deceleration time 1, e.g. when the deceleration time is too short the door-set will stop abruptly. 9.9 Braking / locking When the door stops in the rest position the locking-unit is engaged. At this moment, deceleration time 2 becomes operational. This second deceleration time should be set to 0, otherwise the motor works against the locking-unit. If however the door has the tendency to reverse a little bit, this deceleration can be increased to a maximum of 0,5 seconds to prevent this. It is possible to switch on the so-called DC-brake, but on a Tourlock it has not much influence, because at the same time the locking-unit will be engaged. 55 Tourlock Security Settings The StereoVision 2 system has four sensitivity adjustments: Low object, Blinding sensor, One person, More person. All sensitivity controls have the options of 1 to 10 and the factory settings for all controls are 5. Changing these settings allows the adjustment of piggy-backing sensitivity. Increasing the sensitivity setting value makes the piggy-backing sensitivity higher but may increase the possibility of false rejection. Decreasing the sensitivity setting value makes the piggy-backing sensitivity lower but decreases the possibility of false rejection. There is the bars indicating the ratio of false rejection and acceptance at the bottom of the screen. It shows the predicted value (%) of the current setting result for your reference. Note: Values are a reference only, and vary depending on the installation environment. Low object This setting determines how rolling bags and suitcases affect piggyback detection. High Security setting: objects such as large suitcases and rolling bags will result in a rejection. Low Security setting: a person crawling behind an authorized user may not be detected, but rolling bags and suitcases may pass. High security setting: objects held close to the sensor will be detected (as a result, taller persons may be detected by the sensor and be rejected). Low security setting: objects will have less blinding effect on the system (as a result, taller persons may be ignored by the sensor). High Security setting: a high recognition of shape of person. User behavior is limited (as a result, the head must be held up straight and arms must be close to the body). Low Security setting: a low recognition of shape of person. User behavior is flexible (as a result, movements of head, arms and/or hats may be accepted). If the One Person is not recognized, a rejection occurs and the blue and red LED will illuminate for 2 seconds indicating Suspicious output. More person This setting determines the shape of multiple persons. High Security setting: the detection of multiple persons is easily determined. Low Security setting: the detection of multiple persons is less used to determine a piggybacking attempt. Note: Piggybacking is based on the combination of the Moment, Volume and More Person Settings. When Low Security is selected for the More Person setting, a piggyback can easily occur. The Moment and Volume Settings are the only means to determine piggybacking. If a More Person rejection occurs, the red LED will illuminate for 2 seconds indicating More Person output. 58 57 O M manual Output Log / Delete Log The StereoVision 2 system records authorization logs with capture videos or still images. Note: As capturing video is a heavy load do not set it unless necessary. 1. Logging Setting Select Capture or Still for both PRIMARY and SECONDARY, and select the output result Zero, One, More and/or Sus to be recorded. When wishing to record the number of outputs, select Output counts (csv.). The logging is stopped automatically when; the memory of SSD is full or the temperature of the control box becomes too high. The log file can be copied to an external device through the USB ports on the Control Box. 1. Cancel Log Cancel the setting of log as described in 1. Logging Setting. 2. Select Log Select the output logs to be copied from Files as shown in the screen. 3. Connect external memory to USB port on the Control Box. After connecting external memory, click Search button at Drive section on the screen. When the memory device is recognized, the memory information is shown at Dst:. Src: shows the size of the output log, check the capacity of the external memory as shown Dst:. 4. Output Log After confirming that the capacity of the external memory is enough for the size of the output log, click Copy at the bottom right on the screen. Please wait until the copying process of the output log is finished. 5. Remove External Memory Device When completing output of the log, click Eject button at Drive section on the screen. When logged out, the background of the screen becomes gray and three buttons disappear Operational check of the StereoVision 2 system When all settings have been made, enable the free in (non-authorization) mode of the door and check the operations as described below: 1. Operate the door with no object (person) to detect. Make sure that the blue indicator LED is illuminated for 0.2 seconds. 2. Let one person enter the door. Make sure that the blue indicator LED is illuminated for 2.0 seconds. 3. Let two people enter the door (piggy-backing). Make sure that the red indicator LED is illuminated for 2.0 seconds. 4. If the above outputs show no problem, switch the door mode to the authorization mode and perform the same test. In the authorization mode, the door stops at the detection of two people entering together (piggy-backing) and prevents the entry. Try several different ways of entry (ex.: one person with a bag in hand) and make sure that there is no false rejection. 5. If there is any problem found in the operation or any site-specific problem, see paragraph to change the sensitivity setting as required. 6. This completes the operational check. 61 Tourlock 60 MAINTENANCE 12 Maintenance For detailed troubleshooting information please refer to chapter 13 Troubleshooting General The technician should report to a contact or to the reception desk and should always ask if there are any particulars. Perform a visual check to see if there is broken glass or other damage. Check for noise. Check the brushes for wear and bend them in several locations if they are loose. Clean out the center column with a vacuum cleaner until it is free of dust. Fill out the troubleshooting chart or maintenance checklist Electrical Check and clean the safety devices (sensors, etc.). Perform a function test, rest positions, control panel functions. Check the operation of the motion detectors. Check earth screen and earth leads. State motor current on the checklist. Check the electrical wiring. Lighting; replace where needed. Check the motor unit. Perform a visual check of the relay contacts and exchange them where needed.
