Educational Methodology for fire, rescue, and EMS instructors Dr. John Still is the instructor. Please call for pre-registration.... hurry, this class is filling up! Dates: April 5 - May 5, 2005 (Tuesdays and Thursdays) 2. Emergency Boat Operations for Fire, Rescue, and Law Enforcement This new course was developed using the National Fire Academy Fire Service Course Design model to assist Fire, Rescue and Law Enforcement agencies with qualification and certification under NFPA 1006, Rescue Technician Professional Qualifications. Please see the enclosed flyer for more information. Dates: April 16-17, Fire Inspector, Level II This 32-hour course is for the person who desires to become a NC Level II Fire Code Inspector. Materials to bring to class: International Fire Code Book; Legal Aspects of Building Code Enforcement Book; Volume IA Administration and Enforcement (NC State Building Codes). The instructor is Claude Wilson. (Please see enclosed flyer.) Dates: Saturday and Sunday, April 9 and 10 and April 16 and 17, 8 am - 5 pm 4. Swiftwater Rescue Technician II This class is open to all emergency services personnel who have previously taken an SRT I, SRT-Unit I, or SRT II Class. Please see the enclosed flyer and registration form for information. Dates: April 29, 30, and May 1 5. NC State Fire College We will be proudly hosting the 2005 NC State Fire College at. 4 6. Confined Space Qualification School This course, taught by OSFM staff, is for the candidate who desires to be an instructor in the Confined Space discipline. Please call for details and to pre-register. Dates: June 27-30, Driver Operator Series We will offer the entire series for Drivers, EVD, and Aerials. See back of calendar for details. Dates: July 11 August 15, th Annual Cleveland County Fire/Rescue College This promises to be our biggest school ever. Watch for details and mark your calendars!! We plan to offer over 60 classes! This course will be approved for personnel wanting to become auxiliary (assisting) instructors, or become Level 1 NCOEMS instructors. The classes will start Friday, April 15 from 6-10 pm, Saturday and Sunday, April from 8am - 5 pm; and Friday, April 29 from 6-10 pm, Saturday and Sunday, April 30-May 1 from 8 am - 5 pm. Testing and Evaluations will be on Saturday, May 7 from 8 am - 5 pm. Interested candidates need to pre-register and purchase a Methodology Instructor Manual (available in the College Store) prior to the first date of class. Emergency Medical Technician - Intermediate will also be offered beginning May 23, Classes will be held on Monday and Wednesday nights (6 pm - 10 PM) and one eight-hour Saturday every other month (8 am - 4 pm). The class will be limited to 30 students. The top 30 scorers, as placed by the assessment center dates on the first night of class, will be chosen to take the course. Students will be scored on an EMT-Basic exam, Math Skills, and Reading Skills. Please register at the Emergency Training Center 11:30 am - 4 pm Monday thru Thursday and 8 am - 12 pm on Friday or register at, Continuing Education Department.
