1 NOTTINGHAM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL NHS TRUST STATEMENT OF PURPOSE Legal status of the Trust University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) came into being on 1st April 2006 and assumed responsibility for the services provided by the Queen's Medical Centre, University Hospital NHS Trust (QMC) and City Hospital NHS Trust (NCH). The Trust s Establishment Order is Statutory Instrument (SI) 2006 No. 782 which defines the nature and functions of the Trust as: (1) for the purposes specified in section 5(1) of the National Health and Community Care Act 1990 and (2) to provide goods and services, namely hospital accommodation and services, and community health services, for the purposes of the health service. 2 The primary locations at which the Trust provides services The Trust provides a wide range of secondary and tertiary hospital services for patients in, shire and the East Midlands at three sites. These comprise our Queen s Medical Centre campus, our City Hospital campus and our Ropewalk House campus.
