3 Welcome from the Director of Athletics Greetings! I would like to welcome you to Baltimore City Community College and to the Panther family. You are all a part of a growing athletic legacy here at BCCC and a major component of reestablishing the Panther tradition of excellence on and off the field. The 2013 volleyball season is full of promise. Coach Manougian and staff have done an excellent job of recruiting and preparing our student-athletes. We have made many exciting changes to our department, such as additions to our administrative and coaching staffs and state-of-the-art facility upgrades. Some of those upgrades include the complete renovations of the fitness center and locker rooms, the addition of a student lounge area in the P.E. Center, and an overhaul of the gym and basketball playing surface. The BCCC Athletic Department staff and coaches are committed to providing student-athletes with an unmatched experience during your college career. Our coaches are experienced and proven in their sports and possess a motivational gift to bring out the best in your performance. We also focus on physical conditioning and nutritional programs under the guidance of our athletic trainer to ensure elite performances by our student-athletes. We take pride in our facilities and keep them well-maintained to enhance student-athletes playing experiences. Finally, we operate under the values of Baltimore City Community College, the NJCAA and the MDJUCO, upholding integrity, sportsmanship, respect, responsibility, and servant leadership. The results of our holistic approach to athletics and our focus on each student-athlete as an individual include winning seasons and championships, a sense of pride and well-being for all involved, and the greatest sense of camaraderie among athletes. BCCC student-athletes are not only dedicated to exceptional performance on the field, but they excel in their academic pursuits as well. The College s faculty and staff provide a support network for student-athletes that creates a win-win situation for everyone. We are proud of the level of athletic skill, academic success, strength of character, and embodiment of sportsmanship that our athletes display. Thank you for visiting our campus and supporting Women s Volleyball and if there is anything that our staff can do to make your experience here the best it can be, please let me know. I look forward to greeting you as a Baltimore City Community College Panther supporter! Go Panthers! Sincerely, Tara A. Owens Tara A. Owens Director of Athletics 2
