1 team Last season, the Western Texas Men's Soccer team was out to earn a spot back in the conversation for an NJCAA Tournament berth. After completing its mission with a trip to the Tournament in 2012, the Westerners were out to do something more. Taking the Region 5 regular season was a good start in getting them back to the National Tournament. During the Region Tournament, the Westerners were upset in the final match, and their goal of competing in back-to-back national tournament ended. Now in his third season at the helm of the Westerners program, Head Coach Shawn Uhlenhake is hoping to capture the momentum of last year's squad that won the Region 5 regular season title. Only returning 3 letter winners from last year's team will present some challenges for the Western Texas College Men's Soccer team. "We are very young and inexperienced at the collegiate level, but we have the pieces we need to be successful. The more time these guys get playing together, the better. I look forward to watching this talented group of individuals mold themselves into a team. Once they start working for each other and start thinking about, 'we' instead of 'me', we will be a very difficult team to beat," says Uhlenhake. 3 Head Coach - Shawn Uhlenhake Coach Uhlenhake enters his third season with the Westerners in 2014 looking forward to the opportunity to lead this group of men. During Uhlenhake's first season at Western Texas, he led the boys to their first-ever National appearance, and he has won the Region V regular season every year he has coached for the Westerners. A Kansas native, Uhlenhake brings a well-rounded resume to the Westerner Soccer program both as a player and coach. He has coached in numerous positions throughout his career including, most recently, serving as both the Head Women and Men's Soccer Coach at the Western Texas College. Uhlenhake attended Lindenwood University and State Fair Community College. During his college tenure, he was part of four National Championship appearances, at NJCAA and NAIA. In 1999, he was part of the NJCAA Championship team at State Fair Community College. Following his graduation from Lindenwood in 2002, Uhlenhake served as an assistant at Western Nebraska Community College. After his short stint in Nebraska, he moved to Kansas City where he coached for the Kansas Rush Soccer Club and Blue Valley Soccer Clubs. After eight years in club coaching, he took the Head Women's coaching position at Barton College in Kansas.

A Kansas native, Uhlenhake brings a well-rounded resume to the Westerner Soccer program both as a player and coach.

4 Assistant Coach - Brook Serrano A former student assistant (2012) at Eastern New Mexico University Brook Serrano enters her first season as an assistant coach for the Western Texas College men's and women's soccer program. As assistant coach, she is responsible for assisting the head coach with all aspects of running the women's soccer program including oversight of games and practices; athlete instruction and care; paperwork; recruiting; training; and planning for team travel. Serrano played collegiate soccer at Eastern New Mexico University from At ENMU she earned the Zia's Most Valuable Offensive Player award and was awarded captain her senior year. Serrano graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in 2014 with a B.S. in Criminal Justice and a Minor in Political Science. Serrano is originally from Los Lunas New Mexico. Assistant Coach - Dmitriy Lunev Dmitriy Lunev was named to the Western Texas College men and women's soccer staff in August Dmitriy is a young dedicated coach with a wealth of experience and knowledge about the game. He is currently working towards obtaining his coaching licenses from NSCAA. He will be assisting both Men's and Women's programs with the oversight of games and practices; goalkeeping training; recruiting; training; and planning for team travel. Dmitriy began his collegiate career at the Russian New University in 2006 in Moscow. In 2008, he moved to the U.S. and attended Northwest Missouri State University where he completed his collegiate career (2013) playing club soccer for the Bearcats. Originally form Murom, Russia Lunev earned Bachelor degree majoring in Business Economics and International Business from Northwest Missouri State University in 2013.

5 Marc Fenelus Drafted in Third Round of Major League Soccer Marc Fenelus of the Western Texas College ( ) men's soccer team was drafted in the third round of the Major League Soccer 2015 Superdraft by the New England Revolution on Tuesday. "Marc was a very special player when he was at Western. "Westerners head coach Shawn Uhlenhake said. "It is now a reality for all the players that are currently attending Western Texas and the future players that this can be a place to start in the journey to becoming a professional. We are looking for high character kids that will put in the work on and off the field. Marc was one of those players that had great character and now his dreams of being a professional are a reality. We are all really happy for him. He will represent both Western Texas and Cal State Fullerton well." The forward from Turks and Caicos started his collegiate career at Western Texas College, earning a nod on the All- Region team both his freshman and sophomore years after leading the team in scoring both seasons. After transferring to Cal State Fullerton his junior season he appeared in 17 matches, finishing the season with two goals, two assists, and six points. Before returning to the Titans for his senior year, Fenelus competed in the 2014 Caribbean Cup for the Turks and Caicos Islands national team. Turks and Caicos suffered a 1-0 loss to Aruba and a 6-0 loss to French Guiana before the team's final match. In the 31st minute in a match against British Virgin Islands, Fenelus scored the team's first goal since 2008 as the team went on to a 2-0 victory. In 2014, the 5-foot-11 forward had his best year as a Titan, appearing in all 24 matches and started 22 games. He led the Titans in goals (7), points (16), and game-winning goals (3). His play on the pitch earned him a selection on the Big West Conference All-Conference Second team for the first time in his career. In his two-year career on the pitch as a Titan, Fenelus has accumulated nine goals, four assists, and 24 points. Fenelus becomes the 1st Westerner in the history of the program to play professional soccer, and the 1st to play in the MLS. See all the selections from the 2015 MLS Superdraft here.
