1 Installation of a software for GPRS PC card modem GC75 1. Pursuant to the handbook received with your GPRS PC card, install corresponding software or proceed according to this tutorial. If you already installed the card, proceed to the next chapter: Configuration of dial-up connection. 2. Insert installation CD for GC75 card in laptop. If CD is not automatically activated, select Start Run and type D:setup.exe (D being your CV drive). 1. The Choose Setup Language option opens where you select a corresponding language. Click OK. 1. Now the IntallShield Wizard for Manager GC75 opens, as shown in pictures on the following page. Follow instructions on the screen and when the installation is finished, click Finish.

4 1. Now fully insert the GC75 card in laptop and you will hear the buzz showing the laptop has recognised it.

5 2. After a few seconds a New Hardware window appears and necessary drivers for GC75 shall be installed for GC75 CDa. 3. Now both the GC75 and GC75 Manager software are installed and ready for use. Select Programs Sony Ericsson GC75 Manager to open a control software. 4. GC75 Manager window opens and after a while at the status screen you can see strength of signal and name of the network operator. Configuration for dial-up connection 1. Within the GC75 Manager menu select 2. Click Create a new dial-up connection, type the name of a new connection, e.g. Telenor GPRS and click Next.

6 1. Choose the type of connection, in this case GPRS. At the bottom of the screen in the operator's list select Others and click Next.

7 1. Type new APN, click Add and in the dialogue box type internet.

8 1. Now click Advanced to insert specific parameters and configurate: o IP address: Obtain an IP address automatically o DNS: Obtain DNS server address automatically o Compression: do not select anything o Requested QoS: leave everything Subscribed o Minimum QoS: leave everything Subscribed

9 1. Click finally OK and you will exit the Advanced. 2. Now click Next and you will exit the set up for Access Point Name. 1. Now set up User ID and Passward: o User ID: telenor o Password: gprs

10 2. Click Next. 1. You will receive a report on completion of set up and click Finish.

11 1. Adequate set- ups on laptop should be done. In the sequence of Start Settings Control Panel select Network Connections. 1. Choose the GC75 GPRS connection and then click on the right mouse key. In the open menu click Properties.

12 1. In the General menu click Configure and set up Maximum speed and Harware features, as in the next picture. Click OK 1. Proceed to Networking and for PPP select Settings and set up PPP Settings according to the picture and click OK.

13 1. Choose Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties. Set up parameteres as in the picture.

15 Connecting 1. Open GC75 Manager and activate the card. Click File and then select Turn Radio On. Wait for a network status strenght of signal and operators' name: Telenor.

16 1. Choose Telenor GPRS from the list and click Connect. 1. The information is received: Connected to Telenor GPRS.

17 1. Start browser, e.g. Internet Explorer and freely surf. 2. For disconnection, clik Disconnect in GC75 Manager. 3. Alternatively you may connect directly when opening a browser and typing desired web site. In the Network Connections window select GC75 GPRS connection and press Connect. Confirm the offered number by pressing Dial key, as it is shown in the picture, and you are already online.

18 In this way you have finished configuration of your laptop for the Internet access through GPRS.
