1 Upgrade of TrustPort Products Since July 1 st TrustPort is going to release the virus definition updates for Argon engine in new more effective format. Updates for the Argon engine will be released more often and also there will be increase of detection capabilities of this engine. For this reason there is a need to upgrade your current versions of TrustPort products into the current product s line. In other case there is possibility of updates and potentially also the scanning issues. The suitable TP Product s versions are available for long time period (since October 2014), so we suppose that there will be no need to inform customers in a massive way. Anyway it is possible that some administrators in corporate environment did not apply any program updates (point 3. below) and/or did not upgrade the Antivirus for Servers (point 2. below). That s why we recommend you to read all details in this handbook and if necessary take an action in selected cases, and for example connect to customer s Management console and do the necessary or inform the corporate customers. The details about upgrading are described below. For 2013 product line, there is need to have installed or higher. For 2014 product line, there is need to have installed or higher. (So actually , , , and are suitable). For 2015 product line all available versions are correct. (So actually and are suitable). (2012, 2011 or earlier versions become officially unsupported so all users with these versions should upgrade to supported one - in an ideal way to 2015). 1) Upgrading of Home users or Standalone corporate machines Upgrading of standalone machines (all machines without TrustPort Management Client/Server installed) will be done automatically for products TrustPort Antivirus, TrustPort Internet Security and TrustPort Total Protection. All TP upgrades are provided with user s interaction user is asked if he wants to install upgrade or no. But for some specific upgrades we can force it. So we can install upgrade even without user confirmation. Basically it is not necessary to inform any home user. Soon we ll force suitable update to all users (we expect force upgrade in mid of June). Details for all versions: We already forceed upgrade of 2013 version a long time ago (October 2014) so all consumers should already have installed version supported new Argon engine. We are planning to force update also for 2014 version (mid of June) so there will be no need to install latest version we just do it in silent. All what is need is restart computer to apply upgrade. From this reason there is no need to inform any home users. It is also not

2 necessary to restart immediately upgrade is applied during the next start of PC. But remember that until the computer restart it is still running previous version. Most of the users will not notice even that we upgrade was done. There is no need to care about any 2015 version as explained above - all are supported by new Argon scanning engine. 2) Upgrading of standalone TrustPort Antivirus for Server (All server machines without TrustPort Management Client/Server installed). The automatic upgrade process is from security reasons disabled by default at server machines (for TrustPort Antivirus for Servers only). There is needed to check for update or install upto-date version of TrustPort AV for servers manually. The update can be done with help of General settings, choose Check For Program Updates. In few minutes the information box about server restarting is displayed and all what is needed is to choose Yes upgrade is applied during the next start of computer. It is not necessary to restart immediately. But remember that until the restart complete, you are still running previous version of TrustPort AV for server. You can find upgrade option also in tray icon Update Update Antivirus. We strictly recommend you to contact your customers with TrustPort Antivirus for Servers that they have to apply the proper program updates in their environment (if there is any chance that they have installed older than version or or even 2012 or 2011 versions). You can also upgrade/reinstall directly to latest 2015.

4 3) Upgrade to latest 2014 versions of TrustPort Antivirus using Management server software In case that you have in your TP Managed network installed multiple versions of TP products e.g and at some PCs 2013, remember to apply update for both product versions. For example below is shown situation how to upgrade to v but in same way you must add all three updates also for (e.g. Antivirus, Internet Security and Total Protection). We strictly recommend you to contact your corporate customers with request to apply the proper program updates in their corporate environment (if there is chance that they have installed older than version or or even 2012 or 2011 versions). Also please pay attention to server machines (point 3.5). Or if you manage their Management Server console you can apply the discussed program upgrades by yourself. Or just check the application versions at Reporting Statistic tab Statistic of Application versions TrustPort Antivirus. In this case TrustPort Antivirus stands for module antivirus even if you are using Internet Security or Total Protection. S ee picture below.

5 Example of upgrading to version (or higher x.xxxx) 3.1) Login to management console and go to: Settings -> TrustPort products update -> Manually configurable updates -> Review and Apply

6 3.2) In new window choose version (or higher 14.0.x.xxxx) of Antivirus and Total Protection (In case you are using also Internet Security Suite choose also Internet Security) as Apply update. Then choose Proceed. 3.3) Chosen updates are now visible at Automatically distributed updates tab. (and at main screen).

7 3.4) Since this moment the new version is available for all machines in local network for all clients under Management server control. The automatic scheduled task takes care about installation in network (the scheduled task check for new program updates each day and after startup of the PC) and upgrade is installed silently. For Total Protection (or Internet Security or Antivirus) after installation there is ask for restart the immediate restart is not needed and the upgrade itself perform during the next startup of PC so e.g. next day once users turn on their machines. You can anytime force upgrade checking by choosing Check For program Updates (under general settings) to check that all works fine. (Similar like in point 3.5 below - for Antivirus for Servers). 3.5) For TrustPort Antivirus for Servers the situation is different the automatic update process is disabled by default at server machines for security reasons (for TrustPort antivirus for Servers only). There is need to choose Check For program Updates, manually at each server machine under general settings. In few moments note information about restart is displayed (choose Yes ) and upgrade is applied during the next start of PC. For 2014 or 2015 product line you can find upgrade option also in Tray icon Update Update Antivirus. (Remember to do point 3.2 before 3.5)

8 4) Automatic upgrades Under Management If any administrator setup automatic update, there is no need to choose specific update to apply: Settings -> TrustPort products update -> Automatically distributed updates -> Configure - > Save &Proceed but still the upgrade steps for Antivirus for Servers are needed - see chapter 3.5.

9 5) TrustPort USB Antivirus For USB versions it is the same like for Antivirus for Windows, but remember that USB antivirus has no auto upgrade function so program update has to be done manually: For 2013 product line, there is need to have installed or Higher. For 2014 product line, there is need to have installed or Higher. (So actually also , and are suitable). For 2015 product line any available versions are suitable. (So actually and are suitable). If any user has older version just delete Folder TrustPort USB and files - autorun.inf, TrustPortAntivirus.cmd and TrustPortAntivirus.exe from root of flash drive and then install latest version. (Remember that you may also delete quarantine folder so there could be some files. Folder name is TrustPort USB\Antivirus\quarantine).

10 6) TrustPort Net Gateway The upgrade is need only for installation where the antivirus core is included (not for installation with only Antispam or standalone WebFilter without antivirus module). For 2010 product line there is need to have installed or Higher. (Program Update can be downloaded at Common Gateway Update System Update ). For 2013 product line there is need to have installed or Higher. (Program Update can be downloaded at Configuration Update System Update ). 7) Notes You can, of course, also install new version over the old one in case of any troubles with automatic upgrade. The 2015 version of Antivirus (Total Protection and Internet Security) can be installed over the 2013 or 2014 one (it is not necessary to uninstall the 2013 or 2014 first).
