3 4 th International Railway Telematics Conference 2010 Speakers Jeremy Acklam Jeremy is currently Managing Director of Venture Innovators Ltd, delivering services using mobile phone handsets. Previously, Jeremy was one of the founders of thetrainline.com. He also led SEDP planning for TAF TSI for the European Rail Freight sector and was a founder of the UK s smart ticketing organisation. Szilard Aradi Szilard Aradi received the M.S. degree in Transportation Engineering from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Budapest, Hungary in He is currently working as assistant lecturer in the Department of Control and Transport Automation. His research interests include computer sciences, fleet management systems and communication. Michael Baranek Michael Baranek has been the Chairman of the Open Telematics Alliance (OPTA) since Michael Baranek currently works full-time as Senior Consultant at the Deutsche Bahn subsidiary DB Systel GmbH and brings with him more then 12 years experience in ICT and the telematics environment. He served as the head of consulting and product management for fixed and mobile applications at the Deutsche Bahn subsidiary DB Telematik GmbH.. Victor Behrends For over 10 years now Mr. Victor Behrends has been the leader of Business Development of Telematic Systems. With the take-over of Transportdata AG by Knorr-Bremse Mr. Behrends was also the leader of different EU and dangerous- goods Telematics projects. Since the telematic division was transferred to Eureka Navigation Solutions AG the product range has been emphatically enhanced with intelligent wireless sensor technology. Dale Coleman Dale Coleman is Managing Director of TTG, a company which provides specialist technology software and products and services to the rail industry. For more than 25 years he has provided advice on all aspects of the planning, management, operation, maintenance and safety of rail systems. Dale is a Board Member of Australian Railway Industry Corporation and is President of the Rail Track Association of Australia. Dr.-Ing. Peter Faubel After studying electrical engineering and his doctoral thesis, he has been an employee of Siemens AG since 1986 and was active in the field of automation technology in Nuremberg. Since 1990, he has worked in Brunswick in the departments of sales, development and product-management of disposition and automation systems. Wolf-Dietrich Geitz has a Master s degree in railway engineering from RWTH Aachen. He works on business plans for railway operators, evaluation of investment in infrastructure, market research for the railway industry and analysis and simulation of railway operations. Dipl.-Ing. Christoph Gericke Born in 1982, from 2002 to 2008 studies of mechanical engineering with the main focus on vehicle technology. Today, research assistant in the area of telematics and maintenance at the department of rail vehicles of the Technical University Berlin Cafer Gül Cafer has 15 years of experience in railway operations, in both the passenger (SJ AB) and freight (Rail Combi AB) sectors. He joined ELOG in 2000 where he managed several international projects for railway operations, IT System development and ICT implementations. Michael Heißenberg Michael Heißenberg, born in 1958, has been active in the areas of software systems and software development since From 1988 he concentrated on railroad-logistics. Since 2002 he has been the managing partner of APRIXON Information Services Ltd. Hans-Georg Keßler Hans-Georg Keßler has as Client Executive the sales responsibility for the business relations of IBM to Deutsche Bahn AG. After his studies of mathematics, economics and politics at the University of Münster he began his professional career at IBM Deutschland GmbH in He assumed several sales and distribution functions before he was appointed sales manager in David Krasensky David Krasensky achieved his Master s degree in Computer Science and Railway Transport Technology; his further experience includes designing interlocking systems and architecture of information systems for railways. Now he is a strategy consultant at the OLTIS Group. Christoph Lackhove Christoph Lackhove studied industrial engineering and management and wrote his diploma about the ETCS-Migration. Since 2007 he has been research assistant at the institute for traffic-system-technology of the DLR, department of railway systems. In the group Life Cycle Management his main technical focus is placed on the migration of railway control and railway protection technology. Dipl.-Ing. Daniel Lüdicke Studies of mechanical engineering and mechatronics. Since 2009 he has been a research assistant at the Institute of Rail Vehicles and Materials Handling Technology of the RWTH Aachen University, responsible for a research project of satellite navigation and vehicle control system. Doris Luther Since 2007 working as research assistant in the specialist field of rail vehicles of the Institute for Transport by Land and Sea of the TU Berlin. First of all studies of civil engineering at the TFH Berlin with subsequent 5-year work in an engineers office in Berlin. She subsequently studied a further course in engineering with the subject area of transport. Christian J. Neumann Christian J. Neumann, Diploma graduate in computer sciences and manager of CN-Consult GmbH, has been active with German and Swiss railroad businesses in the transportation and logistics field as IT- / ICT-project leader and project manager since In his work he has been dealing with the practical use of modern GPS and RFID technologies for vehicle location and support to the disposition in the rail-bound traffic for several years. Dr. Schöbel After the studies of civil engineering Dr. Schöbel started his scientific work at the Institute for Railway Engineering at Vienna University of Technology, where he also published his Ph-D thesis on the choice of location of wayside train monitoring systems in He was engaged in several projects for implementation of wayside sensor systems to check different fault statuses in railway operation. Rüdiger W. Schwarz is a graduate industrial engineer and has been working as a business consultant in the interface of logistics and IT and in project management for logistics software and business development for IT service providers. He the Berlin network consultingcircle in Since 2010 he has been a managing partner of Benefit Management Software. Amit Shah Amit Shah, founder and CEO of E-Senza is an engineer with 15 years of experience in management and technology. Earlier in his career Amit successfully founded and developed two companies and demonstrated his ability to foresee customer needs. At Siemens Postal Automation he was in charge of large international projects. Bernd O. Stottok Bernd O. Stottok studied Electrical Engineering. He worked in the Substation Control Systems and Military Communications units at Siemens. After two positions with smaller companies Stottok joined Siemens again. Until 2007 he was Head of Circuit Engineering for Light Rails, later Locomotives in Erlangen. He now works for Siemens Energy Automation in Nuremberg. Isabelle Vandoorne Ms. Isabelle Vandoorne is Policy Officer at the European Commission, in the unit which is responsible for Rail Transport and Interoperability. She is in charge of, among others, Railways Telematics Applications. Isabelle has a Master s degree in Electrical Engineering and has 15 years of experience mainly in the IT and telecom sector.
