3 HOW WE DO IT Compaction grouting is the most common remediation method for sinkhole repair used today. When a properly designed grout is injected into loose soils, grout bulbs are formed that displace, densify and compact the surrounding soil. Chemical grouting, injected as a liquid polyurethane solution under much less pressure than compaction grouting, is most commonly used to stabilize loose soil areas near the surface. Geotechnical contractors and drillers also use this process to solidify soft soils to allow soil borings or excavations where high-pressure compaction grouting would be too risky for nearby structures. As with other remediation efforts, the geotechnical engineer or geologist will issue a comprehensive report and plan of action to fix the problem. The report will estimate the depth and quantities of aggregate grout and guide the contractor in pumping stages. Most simply, it is the process of modifying an existing foundation system by extending it to or into subsurface strata that is deeper and more stable than the near surface soil that supports the existing foundation system. Can I choose any foundation repair company I want? Yes. The policyholder has the right to choose the repair company and contractor of his or her choice. Only consider a company that is licensed and fully insured; always check for experience in the industry and a clean track record. Ask for proper references; there are many companies that have recently opened and operate with little-to-no experience. Be very cautious of this. Are you licensed in the state of Florida and insured? Yes. RAB has a CBC license with the state and carries an insurance policy with $2 million in coverage. How long have you been in business?
