1 ROSALIND H. KIRK PhD Dr. has over 25 years of professional experience including nine years of research and teaching in the fields of early childhood, youth, family and community services at Michigan State University, USA and over fifteen years of child and family welfare practice, policy development, and senior social work management in Scotland. She holds a PhD in Social Policy and Social Work from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Her dissertation focused on the impact of child daycare on the stress, resilience and well-being of young families. She specializes in child and youth welfare; child, youth, family and community program evaluation, inclusive preventive practices among at risk communities; research, teaching and evaluation of community-based services, child daycare and parenting. Between 2007 and 2010 Dr. Kirk managed a statewide evaluation of a preschool mental health intervention program; provided community service and outreach in by leading and conducting an evaluation of a School of Social Work, Michigan State University summer camp program for foster youth interested in pursuing higher education; and consulted for MI not-for profit organizations.
