Mary Washington College Major: Business, Leadership, and Management Bauder College Major: Fashion Merchandising TEACHING/ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE 2009-Present Assistant Professor, School of Education, Liberty University Lynchburg, Virginia As an assistant professor, my duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate level that help prepare teachers for endorsement in private and public school systems adhering to Virginia licensing requirements Present Adjunct Instructor, George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia Courses taught include: 2009, 2008 Summer session - EDSE 540 Characteristics of LD/ED (online) Assist students in developing a solid foundation for understanding learning acquisition and behaviors of children with learning disabilities and /or emotional disturbances and prepare students to interact with other professionals about children with these disabilities. This course complies with alignment of outcomes and requirements with key CEC/NCATE standards. 2009, 2007, 2006 EDSE 503 Language Development and Reading Assisted students in the competencies for language development and emerging literacy for individuals with emotional disturbances

2 and learning disabilities. Monitor small groups and individual analysis of case studies and intervention projects. This course complies with the standards for teacher licensure established by the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), the major special education professional organization English Teacher, Stafford County Public Schools, Brooke Point High School As an English teacher, I taught English 10 and English 9 college preparatory courses. Responsibilities included preparing students to meet the requirements of the Standards of Learning for Virginia and the district curriculum. General focus includes elements of reading, writing and literary interpretation. Teaching methods reflect knowledge in evidence based research and technological standards as set by school administration. Participate in districtwide literacy initiative and diversification for all students Special Education Teacher, Stafford County Public Schools, Colonial Forge High School As a Special Education Teacher I taught self-contained and collaborative classes at the high school level to students in general education and students with disabilities focusing on writing and reading. Taught English 11 and 12 curriculums focusing on student engagement and motivation in literature, reading, and writing. Manage an annual caseload of approximately 10 special education students. Develop annual I.E.P.s inclusive of parental concerns, testing, scheduling, and implementing meetings. Designed and put into action a developmental reading program for grades Nominated Teacher of the Year. Serve on the following committees Superintendent s Advisory Council, Calendar Committee, and Block-scheduling Committee.
