5 Article III. Introduction The Betterbottrader is designed to make trading on the U.K. and Australian horse racing market as simple as possible. This can be done either manually, automatically, or both at the same time. You can bet as low as 0.01 in whatever currency you use on Betfair, so you can test different strategies with little risk. Article IV. Login to the BetterBottrader Please enter your Betfair username, Betfair Password in the appropriate boxes. Also please enter the BetterBottrader serial number that you get when you buying the software. Please note, we are not storing your Betfair password anywhere in our databases and you don't have to worry about it at all. We do the authentication based on the unique serial number given to each of the BetterBottrader users.

6 If you have entered the above details correctly (valid Betfair account details and a valid serial number), then you will get the below main screen of BetterBottrader.

8 Article V. Article VI. Main Screen of BetterBottrader The next thing that you will need to do is to select the market that you wish to begin to trade on using the BetterBottrader, from the quick pick list which is located at the top left hand side corner of the main screen. If you select the market, then all the corresponding Win and Place market data will be loaded as shown in the below picture. Win market will be at the left hand side while the Place market will be at right hand side. After the initial selection of the market, BetterBottrader will automatically load the next races once the current one is finished. Current balance and the available balance of both UK and Australian wallets (if you have one) will be shown at the top right hand side corner. The remaining time for the scheduled start time will be shown in red color just below the account balances. Current Profit/loss generated from BetterBottrader will be shown in between the above two values. Also you will be able to see the time that each race is estimated to take in seconds, just in front of the market name in the quick pick list. This can be changed to any time you wish by clicking on the box and adding your settings. You will see a "Start" button in the middle, which should be pressed whenever a new strategy is configured and is needed to run. By pressing Quit" button, you can simply close the BetterBottrader. "Reset Parameters" button is for resetting all parameter (input) values and restart the BetterBottrader functionality. "Cancel All Bets" button is for cancelling all the unmatched bets at once. "Test" button under "Tone settings" is there for testing the audio alert after setting required parameter values. This audio alert will be played when the currently selected (loaded) market goes In-play.

10 When the market turns in to "In-play, the main screen will be changed as shown in the below Screen Shot. The first three favorites of both win and place markets will be highlighted in red, yellow and blue colors respectively. Also you will hear an audio alert at the instance when the market is turned to in-play. You can customize this audio alert using the "Tone Settings which comes under "General" tab.

11 Article VII. STAKING The Betterbotrader is designed to be able to bet below the Belfair minimum bet size. Just type in whatever bet size you wish to use in the stake boxes. WARNING: Betting below the Betfair minimum takes 4 times as long, so is not recommended for use in play. Bets below Belfair minimums is a 4 step process which initially bets the full minimum Betfair stake which if there is not enough time left in the race can result in bets being made at that full stake size. Bets can get matched late at far different odds than were initially bet on, which can lead to large losses. Other factors that may contribute to bets not being matched in-play are the Betfair delay placed on in-play bets, slow internet speed, low liquidity etc. Article VIII. Odds and Ticks TICKS. Betfair odds (prices) are not continuous and they are discrete and have predefined steps as given in the below table. So if we try to place a bet on an invalid price (E.g. : price = 127), then betfair will return an error saying "Invalid Price". Let's say we want to green a matched lay bet by placing a back bet. If we are waiting for a increase of the price by 0.60 and then to place the greening bet, following will happen... If the matched price of the lay bet is between 1.01 to 2, then we will get a valid price for placing the greening bet.eg: if the lay bet matched at 1.19, then we can place the back bet at = If the matched price of the lay bet is between 2 to 3, then we will get a valid price for placing the greening bet...eg: if the lay bet matched at 2.22, then we can place the back bet at = 2.82 But, If the matched price of the lay bet is between 10 to 20, then we will NOT get a valid price for placing the greening bet...eg: if the lay bet matched at 11.5, then bot will try to place the back bet at = 12.1 which is an invalid price. If the matched price of the lay bet is between 20 to 30, then also we will NOT get a valid price for placing the greening bet...eg: if the lay bet matched at 35, then bot will try to place the back bet at = 25.6 which is an invalid price.

13 Ticks Because of above limitation, people have introduced "ticks" as a solution. A "Tick" refers to the actual price steps. Please refer below graph to see how ticks corresponds to relevant prices. Price Range Step Number of Ticks Value of a one tick in this range Ticks are integers and have values from 1 to 350. Ticks are generally used to measure a price differences irrespective of the size of the price. Let's say we want to green a matched lay bet by placing a back bet. If we are waiting for a increase of the price by 5 ticks and then to place the greening bet, following will happen..

14 If the matched price of the lay bet is between 1.01 to 2, then we will get a valid price for placing the greening bet..eg: if the lay bet matched at 1.19, then we can place the back bet at ticks = 1.24 (as a tick refers to 0.01 in this range). If the matched price of the lay bet is between 2 to 3, then also we will get a valid price for placing the greening bet..eg: if the lay bet matched at 2.22, then we can place the back bet at ticks = (As a tick refers to 0.02 in this range) If the matched price of the lay bet is between 10 to 20, then also we will get a valid price for placing the greening bet...eg: if the lay bet matched at 11.5, then bot will try to place the back bet at ticks = 14 which is a Valid price.. (As a tick refers to 0.5 in this range) If the matched price of the lay bet is between 20 to 30, then also we will get a valid price for placing the greening bet...eg: if the lay bet matched at 25, then bot will try to place the back bet at ticks = 30 which is also a valid price.. (As a tick refers to 1.00 in this range) Hope above examples are sufficient to understand the use of ticks for measuring price differences. Article IX. Trading Strategies of the BetterBottrader A different set of independent trading strategies (which are proven as profit making strategies) are supported by the BetterBottrader either In-play or preplay. These trading strategies are initiated by placing bets (manually or automatically) as per the below list. After these initial bets, BetterBottrader will automatically place relevant bets related to trading, according to the defined "greening/hedging" configurations. 15 Auto Backing the Win market favorite (In-play) DUTCH betting on the Win market (in-play) We will describe each of above trading strategies with relevant screen shots in the coming chapters. Section 9.02 Manual Trading (a) Simple manual Betting If you want to place your bets manually, you can do so with a single click, then " BetterBottrader " is designed to help you to make your manual betting task very convenient (with one click betting feature...etc). First you should go to the "Advanced" tab and there you will see a box "Manual Bet Settings. You can specify the Back and Lay stakes that you need to use for your manual bets there. Then you can click on whatever horse in whatever the markets (either Win or Place) with whatever the price, Bot will immediately place your bet on that horse, at that price. If you need to change the price and stake of the bet, then you can tick the "Confirm Bet" tick box, which is located at "General" tab. With "Confirm Bet" ticked, you will always get a confirmation box to change/verify your price and stake of the manual bet. If you press OK, then bet will be placed. 22 (c) Manual Greening of Bets (how to green up /hedge-up bets manually). Once you have placed your bets manually as described above, and if you want to green-up or hedge-up your bets manually at any time, you can simply click the green color button (which is next to the yellow color button that shows current profit and loss of a runner) as shown in the below picture. If you move your mouse pointer on to this green color button, you will be able to see the possible profit amount (in green color ) or possible loss (in red color) amount so that you can decide whether you should press the button...etc ( Also you can wait by looking for a better value for best time to green manually ).

24 (g) Automatic Greening of Manual Bets If you need BetterBottrader to automatically green up or hedge-up a manually placed bet, you can do it very easily by using the "Individual greening/hedging" feature. By doing so you can ensure either a guaranteed profit (if greened) or a less risky distributed loss (if hedged).to do these" greening - hedging" configurations you should go to the "Greening " tab. Then go to individual greening/hedging box and set the values as described below. Tick "Allow Greening" checkbox to allow BetterBottrader to try to green automatically. Enter an integer value for "Take profit Ticks", which is the number of tick difference (with reference to the initial bet)of the price on which BetterBottrader should place the take profit bet in order to green the transaction. (E.g. 5 ticks ) Tick "Allow Hedging" check box, if you need BetterBottrader to hedge the bet if the prices move against you Enter an integer value for "Stop loss Ticks", which is the number of tick difference (with reference to the initial bet price)of the price on which BetterBottrader should place the "Stop Loss" bet in order to hedge the transaction. If the price of the horse increases more than this number of ticks BetterBottrader will place this stop loss (hedging) bet. (E.g. 10 ticks ) Below is a sample configuration of Individual greening and hedging

26 Section 9.03 Section 9.04 Auto "Backing" the runners in the place market (In-play) (a) Basic Auto backing In this trading strategy what we are trying to do is to place a back bet on the place market when the market is in-play for a defined percentage of the time that it is estimated it would take race to finish. We can select either the win or place market in-play favorite (if different) on which to place the bet. To run this strategy, you will have to set below settings on the bot. In the" General" tab please add/set below values Enter the required value for "Min Odd for back" (E.g.: 1.15) Enter the required value for "Back Start time %" which is the time percentage at which bet is triggered (E.g. : 20) Enter the required value for "Stake for Back" (E.g. : 0.25) Tick "Allow Auto Back" tick box. If you want to place the bet on the Place market favorite, then tick the box "Place Market Fav. Otherwise bet will be placed on the Win market favorite in the place market. After doing the above settings you should press the "Start" button. Then the color of the Start button will be changed to "green" and BetterBottrader will start monitoring the market. Once the market turns to in-play it will wait for the defined percentage of the race time and then will place the back bet automatically in the place market on either the Win or Place market favorite according to your selection. The bot scans the market and waits until there are only 5 horses under the decimal odds of 20.0 if there are 8 runners or more, or 3 under 20.0 if there are less than 8 runners. It will then put a back bet on the in-play favorite in the place market.

29 (b) Automatic Greening/Hedging of above back bet If you need BetterBottrader to automatically green up or hedge-up above back bet, you can do it very easily by using the "Individual greening/hedging" feature. By doing so you can ensure either a guaranteed profit whichever horse wins (if greened ) or a lesser distributed loss (if hedged) if the selected runner prices move against you.to do these" greening - hedging" configurations you should go to the "Greening " tab. Then go to individual greening/hedging box and set the values as described below. Tick "Allow Greening" checkbox to allow BetterBottrader to green automatically. Enter an integer value for "Take profit Ticks", which is the number of tick difference (with reference to the initial bet)of the price on which BetterBottrader should place the take profit bet in order to green the transaction. (E.g. 5 ticks ) Tick "Allow Hedging" check box, if you need BetterBottrader to hedge the bet if the prices move against you Enter an integer value for "Stop loss Ticks", which is the number of tick difference (with reference to the initial bet price)of the price on which BetterBottrader should place the "Stop Loss" bet in order to hedge the transaction. If the price of the horse increases more than this number of ticks BetterBottrader will place this stop loss (hedging) bet. (E.g. 10 ticks )

31 Below Screen shot will show you, how BetterBottrader will try to auto green the above back bet by placing an automatic lay bet at price 1.14 (which is 5 ticks from the initially matched back price, which is 1.19 ).

32 Unfortunately as the prices move against, this is how BetterBottrader will cancel the previous take profit bet and place a stop loss bet. Stop loss bet was placed originally at price 1.30 (when the prices increase more than 10 ticks) and it was matched at price 1.26 as shown in the screen shot below.

33 Section 9.05 Auto "Laying" the runners in the Win/Place markets (In-play) (a) Basic Auto laying In this trading strategy what BetterBottrader would do is to lay the horses that are less likely to win. For selecting less probable horses it will use some complex internal logic. The user has the option of placing lay bets either in the Win market or place market or on both the markets. Below are the relevant settings for this strategy. In the" General" tab please add/set below values Enter the required value for "Max Odd for lay" (E.g.: 200 ) Enter the required value for "Max Liability for lay" (E.g.: 4 ).If you wish to just place a lay bet without Max Liability, then leave this box blank and instead put your chosen stake in the Stake for lay box. Enter the required value for "Lay Start time %" which is the time percentage at which bet is triggered (E.g. : 10) Tick "Allow Auto Lay" tick box. Tick the other check box "Win Market" if you need to place lay bets on the Win market. Or if you want to place Lay bets on the place market then tick Plc Market" check box. If you wish to place bets on both the markets, then keep both the boxes ticked. If you click on the Advanced tab you will see an option called Check available amount on back and lay side. If ticked this will stop bot laying a horse with double the available money on the lay side compared to the amount available on the back side. After doing above settings you should press the "Start" button. Then the color of the Start button will be changed to green, and BetterBottrader will start monitoring the markets. Once the market turns to in-play it will wait for the defined percentage of the in-play time and then will look to place the lay bets automatically on the Win/Place markets.

To do these" greening - hedging" configurations you should go to the "Greening tab. Then go to individual greening/hedging box and set the values as described below. If the price of the horse decreases more than this number of ticks BetterBottrader will place this stop loss (hedging) bet. (E.g. 10 ticks )

39 Section 9.06 Auto Backing the Win market favorite (In-play) In this strategy BetterBottrader will place an automatic back bet on the Win market favorite at the instance, when the market turns to in-play. After placing the Back bet, BetterBottrader will continuously monitor the market and then will do greening /hedging as per the configuration set by the user. Below are the relevant settings of this strategy. You will need to go to the "Advanced" tab for doing these configurations. There you will see a separate box called "Win Market Favorite trading Please add/set below values Tick the check box "Allow Win-Market favorite trading" to enable the strategy. Enter the required value for "Max Odd for Back" (E.g.: 6 ) Enter the required value for "Min Odd for Back" (E.g.: 1.15 ) Enter the required value for "Stake" (E.g.: 1.5 ) Tick "Allow Greening" checkbox to allow BetterBottrader to green automatically. Enter an integer value for "Take profit Ticks", which is the number of tick difference (with reference to the initial bet)of the price on which BetterBottrader should place the take profit bet in order to green the transaction. (E.g. 6 ticks ) Tick "Allow Hedging" check box, if you need BetterBottrader to hedge the bet if the prices move against you. Enter an integer value for "Stop loss Ticks", which is the number of tick difference (with reference to the initial bet price)of the price on which BetterBottrader should place the "Stop Loss" bet in order to hedge the transaction. If the price of the horse increases more than this number of ticks BetterBottrader will place this stop loss (hedging) bet. (E.g. 11 ticks ) After doing above configurations then please press the "Start" button

43 Section 9.07 DUTCH betting on the Win market (both in-play and pre-play) In this Strategy BetterBottrader will do DUTCH betting on the Win market according to the settings set by the user. In order to do the configurations related to DUTCH betting, you have to go to the "Dutching" tab? Below are the relevant settings of this strategy. Please add/set below values Tick the check box "Allow Dutch Betting" to enable the strategy Enter the required value for "Expected Profit" (E.g.: 0.5 ) Enter the required value for "Time %" which is the time percentage at which DUTCH bets will be triggered (E.g.: 10 ) Enter the required value for "No. of Horses" which is the number of horses on which bets are placed to yield above expected profit (E.g.: 3 ) Enter the required integer value for "Gap with next Horse", which is the tick difference between the highest priced horse who is selected for dutching and the horse next to it, who is not selected for dutching. This is to ensure that one of the selected horses have a higher chance of winning the race (E.g.: 5 ticks). Enter the required value for "Max Liability" which will be the maximum liability of all Dutch bets(e.g.: 0.5 ) Tick the checkbox "Allow Hedging" if you need to hedge a horse if the price increases beyond a certain tick difference, which is defined as "Number of Ticks just below the checkbox. After setting above values please press the start button.

45 Below screen shot will show how the DUTCH bets are placed on the market, after monitoring for a while. Below screen shot will show a hedging bet placed by the BetterBottrader as it has found that price of one of the selected horse for dutching is increasing.

47 Article X. Whole Market Greening This is a special feature provided in BetterBottrader to facilitate users to green/hedge the whole market at once. BetterBottrader can be configured so that it can do the "Whole market greening" automatically for you. Otherwise you can simply green/hedge the whole market just by pressing a button. Expected profit will be shown to you, so that you can decide when to press the button, in case you want to green up/hedge out manually. Below given Screen shot will show you how BetterBottrader will show the expected profit if you do the "whole market green" at that instance. In order to green the Win market manually, what you need to do is to press the "Green Up now button which is in the "Greening/Hedging Win Market box. Then BetterBottrader will place all relevant bets automatically and will try to green the market for you. If you need BetterBottrader to green/hedge Win market for you automatically, then you can configure it as follows Please add/set below values Enter the required value for "Tick Offset", which will be used to determine the price of greening bets (E.g.: 0 ) Tick the check box "Allow Auto greening" for enabling the whole market greening and then set the "Expected profit" at which greening should be triggered. (E.g. 0.2). If you need BetterBottrader to auto green even while the race is in-play, then tick the check box "Allow In-play" Similarly, tick the check box "Allow auto hedging" to enable the whole market hedging and then set the "Max allowed loss" at which hedging should be triggered. (E.g. 0.1). If you want BetterBottrader to auto hedge while the race is in-play, then tick the check box "Allow In-play. In case of in-play hedging, you can specify the "Time %, so that hedging will be triggered after reaching that time (E-g 80%) Article XI. WARNING, DO NOT USE THIS STRATEGY WITH ANY OF THE OTHER AUTO STRATEGIES.

51 Article XII. SYSTEM TO USE WITH WHOLE MARKET GREENING. This is a system I like to use that involves trading before race start. To use it you need a basic subscription to the Racing Post. Before the racing begins for the day look at each race in turn. Click on the selections tab near the bottom of each race card. We are looking for a horse that at least 50% of the newspaper tipsters have tipped. We then look at the race card and look to see if the horse has the highest or second highest Racing Post Rating (RPR).Please see screenshot 1. We now go to the When you click on the name of any horse in the win or place market a Price over volume graph will appear for that horse. We do this about 10 minutes before race start; this is because about 80% percent comes into the market in the last ten minutes before race start. We are looking for the graph to show us a downward trend of the horse s odds in the last 20% of the graph. Please see screenshot 2. If the graph looks O.K. we set up the green up whole market parameters as mentioned previously. We now put a back bet on the horse in the win market. Please see screenshot 3 Screenshot 4 shows the odds moving in as we expected In screenshot 5 the momentum of the backing of the horse is slowing, if you were monitoring this trade it would be a good time to green up using the win market green up button. In screenshot 6 the Bot auto greens up the market as the race has reached the scheduled start time and we have not clicked on the allow in-play boxes. The odds often start drifting out just before race start as all the lay bettors start placing there bets.

59 Timing bets. This option allows you to place bets hours in advance of race start.you can place back or lay bets and have a Green up/hedge out option. To use this feature please click on the Timing Bets tab. Select the race you wish to place a bet on. A, Market Type-Select Win or Place B, Horse Name-Click on the drop down menu and select the horse you want to bet on. C, Time of Bet-Take a look at the time to race start,subtract the time you wish to place the bet from the schedueled time to start and input the amount into the Time of Bet parameter box. E.g a race is due to start in 1 hour and 25 minutes and you want to place a bet 2 minutes before race start- 85 minutes minus 2 minutes so you enter 83 minutes.you can select minutes or seconds D, Type of Bet-Back or Lay E, Max Stake-The amount you wish to bet on the horse.if you selected the Lay option it becomes Max Liability. F,G, Min Odds the selected horse must be for the bot to place a bet., Max Odds the selected horse must be for the bot to place the bet. H, Greening/Hedging option,please note the same settings will be applied to all timed bet selections.,when you set all the parameters for that selected horse press J, Press the Place Timing Bet button. 60 User can configure BetterBottrader to stop betting upon reaching any of the below conditions or any combination of them. If the defined maximum profit is reached. If the defined maximum loss is reached If the defined time (in minutes) expired. You can do above configuration as follows. Please go to the "General" tab and there you will see a box called "Stop Betting At. In that box, you can enable any of the above limits by ticking the appropriate tick box and enter desired value/values for the given boxes for parameter values such as "Max profit, "Max Loss and "No. of Minutes". Below is a sample configuration which has enabled all above three limits. When more than one limit is active, then BetterBottrader will stop betting upon reaching any one of the limits.

The Bot can be used with the Belfair personal paid A.P.I. This makes the Market refresh rate a lot faster. If you would like more information about the paid A.P.I please go to: Article XIV. Important notes. You can use the Auto back, lay, Dutch, and Individual green-up settings at the same time. However it s important to give each of the in-play strategies a different Start Time so as not to overload the Betfair A.P.I. Please don t use the auto Green/Hedge Win Market with any of the other auto strategies. They will work against one another. The bot was designed to scalp the in-play market, aim to win 1 or 2 points and then stop for the day. I would advise using no more than 2% of your betting bank as a stake on each trade. When betting with a stake lower than the Betfair minimum, the process can take up to 4 times longer. When conditions are soft, heavy., etc., or the going is firm and fast, remember to adjust either you race percentage time to bet trigger or race time accordingly.

63 As stated in the Disclaimer, the bot will not always be able to match bets placed either manually or automatically. This can result in substantial losses.
