1 Vision KIRIKKALE UNIVERSITY INTRODUCTION VISION AND MISSION The purpose of School of Physical Education is to take part in national and international organizations, be in close relations with science and technology world, have powerful institutional identity and culture, following all kinds of developments in area of education and application, be an active, productive, qualified education and investigation institution. Mission The mission of School of Physical Education and sport is to equip students with the skills and knowledge to conduct research and to interpret the results to be of value to further development in the field. Our aim is to provide a total education through the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of people in order to bring up healthier, happier, and more successful individuals. Our school educates trainers, sport specialists and researchers. GENERAL INFO School of Physical Education and Sport was established in In fall 1999, the school started its education with the Department of Coaching Education. Department of Sport Management and Department of Recreation were included in 2001 and in 2002 respectively as four-year degree programs. After academic year, our high school that stop taking student to recreation department purposes to educate modern, democratic coaches and sport managers who are bounded to Turkish sport, Ataturk principle and reforms in coach education and sport managerial departments. Students are taken to our school with Special Physical Test and central locating to sport managerial departments; four years (eight semesters) education is given to students who earn right for having education in our school. Our students participation is encouraged to all sportive and cultural activities that are organized in our university by health- culture and sports chamber chairman. Our high school students earned very important successes in sports competitions that are organized by Federation of University Sports and they emphasize the name of our university in best way.

2 Our high school whose computer hardware is developing each day is keeping in touch with all institutions and organizations in its own area. Program Profile The School of Physical Education and Sports executes a curriculum with the purpose of developing coaches, sport scientists, sport managers and recreation leaders. This program is an important need for our country. The program includes mandatory lessons about coaching, management and general culture. In addition to mandatory lessons, selective lessons that students can select according to their own selections are added as a sophisticated feature. Thus, School of Physical Education and Sports can identify physical education and sport problems and find solutions with both individual and group interdisciplinary works. Admission and Requirements 1- High school degree, 2- The Score of University Student Selection Exam (ÖSS), 3- To be successful in Special Physical Tests of School Earned Degree Bachelors degree is given to students who are finished program with great success by taking upper class coach and sport manager name in the branches they selected.. Rules Regarding Level The conditions that are needed to be provided for having bachelors degree in our university by our students; a) passing all of the lessons in curriculum with success, b) having needed weighted average over 100, c) completing mandatory training period and having necessary notes from reports prepared for this training. Facilities In order to be used for the educational activities, the school has three soccer fields including two artificial ones, a tracking field, a beach handball field, a beach volleyball field, a beach football field, a fitness centre, several outdoor fields of basketball, volleyball, and handball, tennis courts and two gymnasiums.

3 Education Periods Education period in our school is 4 years. As a need of education program, both lessons about education sciences and applicative and theoretical information in varieties of sport branches are given with our experienced educator staff. Requirements for Graduation The School of Physical Education and Sports graduation conditions are the same with rules regarding level. The students who successfully completed lessons that are existing in program and having minimum weighted average over 100 points earn rights for graduating. Profiles of Our Graduates This program graduates can take duty as coach or sport manager in private sport institutions, General Directorate of Youth and Sport s central and provincial foundations when they get necessary point from an exam called KPSS. Passing Graduate Programs The members who completed their undergraduate education with great success can have education in graduate programs with the condition that they will get valid note from the exam called ALES and having enough English competence in necessary level. Lateral Transfer Conditions Lateral transfer to the departments of Kırıkkale University the School of Physical Education and Sports from education institutions that are connected to our university or from other education institutions are organized as appropriate to third stage education principles and as appropriate to the regulations regarding lateral transfer bases at associate degree and license degree among higher education institutions. The contingent of School of Physical Education and Sports departments that accepts students with lateral transfer to its own departments is defined by the school commission. 4 Activities and Events KIRIKKALE UNIVERSITY As there are annual routine activities in our school, different activities that include the meaning and importance of day are also be organized. Our school participates in many social, cultural and scientific activities programs such as sport organizations, summer fests, and traditional sport festivals with conferences and panels that are organized in our university. Moreover, seminary programs that are executed by education staff and graduate students are continued as periodically in our school. 5 BACHELOR SCIENCE IN COACHING EDUCATION In the department of coaching education, advanced coaches, monitors, conditioners and fitness educators who are needed in sport branches that are rapidly increasing are educated. Moreover, in the sport branch chosen, people who are expert, loving people, high communication skilled, external, developed self discipline, have leadership skills for directing group related to him, opened to reforms, creative. Generally exercise educations are given in the department. Our purpose in education period is to make investigations regularly in areas about sport while educating coaches who are qualified and needed in sport area and showing necessary effort for increasing life quality of our society and performances of sports. The improvements in sport area recently both bring being expert at sport branches in world and in our country. Our coaching department purposes to provide students a hard education in department they are being expert and having much information about sport sciences besides to this. Job Opportunities in Profession The graduates who completes coaching department with great success, earn right to take diplomas of coaching in defined level by sport federation about the sport branch they got education. Thus, our graduates are able to work in different amateur and professional sport clubs as exerciser as an expert. Moreover, our graduates can also be in applier and different positions in different clubs as expert in personnel staff connected to Youth and Sport Directorates. Advancement in Profession Transfer from amateur clubs to professional clubs and technical director or upper level duties can be possible according to the success shown in the work done. In the workers in public foundations, advancement by taking name of assistant director, director, provincial director, chamber director is possible. Moreover, our graduate who make career in academical area can take responsibilities in units concerning physical training and sports of universities by completing their post graduate and doctorate educations.

6 BACHELOR SCIENCE IN SPORTS MANAGEMENT Technological developments in the area of sport, the successes seen in international organizations with the help of these developments and big importance that is earned by society with sport make the management in this area important. The purpose of sport management department is to educate people who can successfully execute different duties such as planning, organizing, executing, control and coordination of management process in sport activities in private and public institutions. When sport activities are evaluated in national and international affectivity, qualified human sources need is also the element we come across. Kırıkkale University physical education and sport management department (BESYO) keeps on studies in this direction with its theoretical and applicative education program and provide its graduates to have a career in sport managerial area. Our department provides contribution for developing people, who have executing and directing skills, can set good relations with people, liking group work, have responsibilities, have competence in technology, and have information management understanding that carries this skill to success in application and professional skill that can evaluate all these features in activities regarding sport management. Job Opportunities in Profession The graduates who completed sport managerial department have the name of sport manager. Our graduates students can work in youth and sport general directorate central and provincial comities, sport clubs in amateur and professional leagues, culture and sport chamber directorates of provinces, tourism sector and private sport establishments, sport counseling, sports education centers, private sport courses and media services areas for their professional careers.
