2 Robotic Radical Prostatectomy It is a great pleasure to welcome you to Rome for the ERUS-ESU Course on. This course is designed for urologists who are seeking to acquire knowledge or enhance their abilities to perform Robotic Radical Prostatectomy. There is a need to disseminate information regarding the robotic approach to radical prostatectomy. In particular, it is important for urologists to be aware of the key technical steps of performing robotic radical prostatectomy, to anticipate risks and to manage complications. The course agenda includes two live case demonstrations. Stepwise surgical technique and challenging scenarios will be shown in several video sessions held by most prominent robotic surgeons. We are proud to host this international meeting in Rome, the city with the highest concentration of historical and architectural treasures in the world. 5 Accreditation General Information ITALIAN CME ACCREDITATION The request for CME credits has been forwarded to the Italian Ministry of Health: Nr Nr. 5,3 CME credits The Congress is intended for the following disciplines: Oncology, Urology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, and General Medicine In order to obtain CME credits, participants must: Attend 100% of the scientific sessions indicated in the programme Sign the attendance register at the beginning and at the end of the course Fill and return the personal data form and the evaluation form Fill and return the CME questionnaire Answer properly to 75% of the questions on the questionnaire All the ECM documents must be returned to the Secretariat Desk at the Congress Venue. Italian CME will be assigned after 3 months following the Congress. CME Certificates will be sent by to the address indicated in the registration form. EUROPEAN CME ACCREDITATION: The request for the European accreditation has been submitted to the UEMS/EACCME. The number of the granted European CME Credits will be announced in due time. 7 General Information General Information MAIN ATTRACTIONS NEAR THE CONGRESS VENUE SPANISH STEPS AND TRINITA DEI MONTI: The Scalinata di Spagna, or Spanish Steps, are located in an upmarket area of Rome, and join the Piazza di Spagna with the church of Trinità dei Monti with its twin towers that dominate the skyline. The church was built in 1502 by Louis XII, next to St. Francis di Paola's monastery. The staircase has been constructed using 138 steps. The Spanish Steps got their name from the Spanish Embassy to the Holy See which was located in the world-famous piazza. Spanish Steps and Trinità dei Monti Museo e Galleria Borghese Via Veneto Corso d Italia A: Hotel NH Vittorio Veneto, Corso d Italia, 1 (official hotel) B: Auditorium Via Veneto, Via Veneto, 89 (congress venue) VILLA BORGHESE: located in the centre of the city, just north of the Spanish Steps, with its main entrance at the Piazza del Popolo and Porta Pinciana, is the largest public park in Rome. Created by Cardinal Scipione Borghese in the 1600's, this elegant park has a lake, plus number of temples, fountains, statues, and several museums. The area was originally a vineyard, then in 1605 Cardinal Scipione Borghese, commissioned landscaper Domenico Savini to design a park. Then from an original sketch by the cardinal, architect Flaminio Ponzio built a villa. The park, which was originally created to a very formal design, was later laid out in a more natural way. In 1903 the city obtained the Villa from the Borghese family, and for the first time, the park was opened to the public. THE BORGHESE GALLERY: located midst the trees of Rome s favourite public park is the Borghese Gallery, a treasure trove of artistic gems, a remarkable collection which was first begun by Renaissance Cardinal Scipione Borghese. Building of Villa Borghese was commissioned by this patron of the arts precisely to house one of the largest and most impressive art collections in Europe. The exhibition reflects the refined taste and intentions of its former proprietors. On view are some of the finest masterpieces of western art including a series of Gian Lorenzo Bernini s sculptures; Titian s canvas Sacred and Profane Love; Caravaggio paintings and the Canova s sculpture of the reclining Pauline Borghese.
