Software updates Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1 support Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard is the most powerful Windows server operating system to date. With built-in, improved Web and virtualization capabilities, this version has been designed to improve the reliability and flexibility of the server infrastructure which saves time and money. Powerful tools provide more control over your servers, while configuration and administration tasks have been streamlined also. Moreover, the operating system has been reinforced with expanded security functions so that you can protect your data and network and provide a solid, very reliable basis. Priva supports this version of Windows Server from Top Control 6.6.1 onwards. Note: Remote desktop is not supported in combination with the Priva dongle due to Microsoft limitations. Support for MS SQL server 2005/2008 From this version of Top Control onwards, MS SQL 2005/2008 server databases are supported for TC History and TC ServeCenter. << Internet Explorer 9.0 support The latest version of Internet Explorer 9 (32-bit version) has been fully supported for TC WebVision and TC WebDisplay from TC WebVision version 6.5.2.1 onwards. << TC ServeCenter More and more projects are including Ethernet and broadband connections. Top Control ServeCenter is following this trend by providing new functionalities with receipt of e-mail messages, TC LAN Manager communication and support for MS SQL databases too. - Project monitoring using e-mail Projects can be managed via networks (LAN) and broadband connections (ADSL/UMTS) from this software release onwards. This will make TC ServeCenter capable of receiving messages by e-mail*. Once an e-mail account has been created the e-mail address is copied to the Compri HX or Compri HX WebEngine. To do this, the POP3 server name has to be included in TC ServeCenter (e.g. smtp. privapartername.nl). TC ServeCenter will scan this mailbox continuously for new messages. The Compri HX and the Compri HX WebEngine include a heartbeat mechanism to check the connection. This means that a heartbeat e-mail is sent to TC ServeCenter 23 hours after the last message. If this e-mail is not received then a communication alarm will be triggered in TC ServeCenter after 24 hours which can be forwarded to the service engineer via the duty schedule. * This function will become available with a TC 6.6.1. hotfix.
- Project monitoring using TC LAN Manager Projects can now be monitored using the TC LAN Manager, allowing a maximum of ten project connections to be made. In addition, connections can be set up to a number of TC LAN Managers (maximum 10) from TC ServeCenter. The TC LAN Managers will have to be installed on separate servers or workstations. - SQL add-on TC ServeCenter is available with an MS SQL Server add-on which allows you to make a connection to an external MS SQL Server database. With this, TC ServeCenter provides a link to a database solution that is frequently used in a professional environment. Both SQL Server 2005 and 2008 are supported. << Engineering using 32-bits Within this Top Control version you can use 32-bit values from pulse counters or serial links to perform calculations in the project software. For example, 32-bit meter readings can be totalled, or a difference can be calculated, which can then be included in a table. Until recently this could only be done with 16-bit values. The following options have been added to TC Select to do this: Calculate using 32-bit values in formulas (+, -, /, x, mod, abs, sqrt). Convert 16-bit values to 32-bit values. Transport 32-bit values across the data network. Compare 32-bit values. Set point element for 32-bit values. Note: The graph option is not available for the element properties. There is no average/minimum/maximum calculation in the formula editor. << Improved touchscreen editor A number of improvements have been made to the touchscreen editor for the Compri HX Touchscreen and the Comset HX Touchscreen to simplify the engineering of the user menus. Variables can be inserted in the operating menus more easily by double-clicking the left mouse button. 3 new selection buttons have been added to the operating menu (duo button, direct adjustment and indirect adjustment). The variables used are shown in red on the selection screen. The sequence of buttons is now clearer also. << Upgrading controllers On upgrade, the hardware configuration for controllers provides a quick conversion from one Compri type to another while retaining the defined configurations and connections: from the Compri TC line to the Compri HX line or within the Compri HX line.
Two examples: Example 1: A renovation project with a conversion from a Compri 25 TC to a Compri HX. The upgrade can automatically determine which Compri HX is required. In addition, the I/O module preference can be specified (without intervention). Example 2: A Compri HX6E is replaced by a Compri HX8E due to an expansion. The controller configuration is changed without consequences for the existing I/O and software configurations. << Screen references From the interface, the left mouse button can be used, or from a touchscreen panel (third-parties) a symbol can be used to immediately retrieve a summary of: - alarms/logbook - new value settings - controls - general settings - I/O summary - external data - configurable graphs - controller alarms - controller connections. This functionality is available for TC Select and TC Vision at project, building section and controller level. TC WebVision supports the following summaries at controller level: - alarms/logbook - new value settings - controls - general settings. <<

Airspeed sensors for VAV boxes Priva now also supplies FloXact air speed sensors for use in air ducts containing VAV boxes especially for renovation projects. The FloXact -Stick is used to measure air speed in air ducts. The average speed is measured at 6, 8 or 10 measuring points. The unique form of the measuring profile amplifies the measuring signal by at least 2.5x so accurate measurements are possible from an air speed of 1.0 m/s (200 fpm). The FloXact -Stick is available is 9 standard dimensions from ø100 mm (4 inches) to ø400 mm (16 inches) or 21 standard dimensions for use in rectangular ducts with widths from 200 to 1200 mm (10 to 48 inches). The inches dimension is available for the North American market. The FloXact Stick works on the same principle as a pitot tube and measures the total and static pressure components of an air flow. The total pressure (Pt) is measured on the fore side of the profile and the static pressure (Ps) on the reverse side relative to the air flow. The difference between Pt and Ps is the dynamic pressure (Pd) which has a quadratic relationship with the air speed. The FloXact Sticks have a Kv value which can be used to easily determine the air quantity to simplify the calculation as well as integrate the amplification factor and the duct diameter. The KV value can be entered directly into the Comforte CX VAV control module, which is used together with the measured pressure difference to determine the flow. Joint undertaking with Air Concepts Priva has entered into a joint undertaking with Air Concepts, a specialist in air distribution engineering. Air Concepts provides the VAV box for the Comforte CX VAV controller and provides a complete commissioning list with the VAV box parameters so that it can be commissioned correctly by the Priva Partner. If necessary, Air Concepts can provide the necessary support for selecting and commissioning boxes. << Combined CO2/temperature sensor with display In addition to the existing CO2/room temperature sensor a variant with a display is now available where the measured values are shown alternately on the display. The remaining specifications are the same as the current combined sensor. <<
Control module library updates The control module range in Priva Top Control has been expanded with various new control modules and configurations. Here is a summary: Changes to Comforte CX VAV control modules Comforte CX VAV control modules with pitot tube configuration where the Kv value is calculated based on the area of the duct and the K amplification value of the pitot tube. This configuration is not required when using the FloXact Stick because it is for a selected duct diameter and the Kv value is shown on the sensor. Comforte CX VAV configuration with minimum flow in neutral position. Available since the Top Control 6.5.1.3 library update. Comforte CX VAV configuration with minimum and maximum external flow. Available since the Top Control 6.5.1.3 library update. Comforte CX VAV configuration with minimum position damper when re-heating or cooling is active. Available since the Top Control 6.5.1.3 library update. << Changes to Underground Thermal Energy Storage control modules (UTES) Optimisation of registration modules Use of weekly and quarterly tables for energy registration. More energy units available (MJ, GJ). Weighted average temperatures in weekly tables. New overview screen. Optimisation of control modules The flow protection has been modified. The condition for starting the set time is the time that an injection valve or drain valve is actuated from the control. Currently the time at which charging or discharging begins is used. Minimum pressure protections idle and operating have been com bined. Maximum pressure protections idle and operating have been merged. Warm and cold well positions control has been expanded with positi ons not equal message and actions. This is now comparable with a mismatch alarm. The drain control has been expanded with positions not equal mes sage and actions. The menu for level monitoring has been expanded so that you can now see if the protection is active. The UTES library is now available in German also. <<
Other changes New Comforte CX module with fire damper controls (2x). Compri HX accessible digital inputs on Comforte CX are equipped with an additional configuration for generating pulses (rising and falling edge). This configuration can be used when pulse outputs are required for lighting controls for example. The heat pump modules have been expanded with a COP calculation. The coefficient of performance (COP) is calculated based on the amount of energy returned in relation to the amount of energy that is input. << More information For more information about Priva Top Control 6.6.1, see the help functions inside the program.
