Health information technicians acquire knowledge about information technology, records management, medicine, management, finance, and law.

The HIMS program follows a laddered approach that allows students to earn an award at each level of their education. Health Information Management Transcription Diploma-Prepares graduates with entry-level skills needed for employment in medical transcription positions in a variety of health care settings. Electronic Health Records (EHRs)-EHRs allow doctors to electronically keep track of your health information and may enable them to see it when you have a problem even if their office is closed. EHRs also make it easier for your doctor to share information with specialists, so that specialists who need your information have it available when it's needed. ICD-10 transition 2013-ICD-9-CM to ICD-10-CM/ PCS will bring significant benefits, including clearer and more complete descriptions of diseases as well as more precise details of procedures. To accommodate Nebraska student s, partnerships have been formed with Southeast Community College and Northeast Community College allowing students to take courses at their local community college and from CCC resulting in graduation from CCC.
