3 EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN Careers within the field of Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) are in great demand due to a growing and aging population. The EMT-1 program at Las Positas College provides students with the education to become first-responders in the event of a medical emergency. Successful completion of Las Positas College s EMT program gives students the education required to register for the certifying examination for the State of California, administered through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
