PURDUE UNIVERSITY 475 STADIUM MALL DRIVE WEST LAFAYETTE, IN 47907 PURDUE UNIVERSITY TRANSFER INFORMATION, WWW.ADMISSIONS.PURDUE.EDU/TRANSFER A transfer student is defined by Purdue as any student completing 1 course after high school graduation. If transferring with less than 24 graded hours at Ivy Tech, high school records will be reviewed as well. Applicants with an associate s degree must still submit a high school transcript. Applicants with 24 graded hours will have the ACT/SAT test score requirement waived. A veteran is a transfer because the DD214 is considered a transcript. If the veteran applicant has no other coursework beyond high school, s/he is classified as a transfer but will be reviewed using beginner criteria. Admissions to Purdue is holistic, to be considered a student must meet GPA and course requirements found at www. admissions.purdue.edu/apply/criteriatransfer. Any student who eventually wants to transfer to Purdue should follow the STEM path for math preparation. At the least, students should be ready to take college algebra. Many programs require math beyond college algebra for admission consideration. It is recommended, but not required, that one complete MATH 136 at Ivy Tech before transferring. Some programs are closed permanently to transfers and others are closed in specific semesters. Check closed programs www.admissions.purdue.edu/apply/closedprograms. Applicants to Purdue who were denied as beginners need to complete 12-24 graded hours of college-level coursework (not remedial or developmental) before applying. Details are at www.admissions.purdue.edu/transfer/ collegecourses.php#credithours. Transferability of courses may be verified at www.admissions.purdue.edu/transferdb. Preferred Deadlines are November 1 for Spring; April 1 for Summer; and July 1 for Fall. SPECIAL PURDUE/IVY TECH PROGRAMS Community College Roadmap for Admissions to Purdue If a potential transfer student is at least 23 and his or her high school record is significantly deficient (poor grades or missing any of Purdue s high school requirements), one may follow the Community College Roadmap (CCR) to forgive the high school record. When the CCR is completed, Purdue will not use the high school (or possibly old college record) in the admissions decision. Applicants must still meet admissions requirements for transfer. For details see, www.addmissions.purdue.edu/collegeroadmap. Pathway to Purdue Agriculture Program This program is only for students interested in transferring to Purdue in Agriculture. The student is enrolled in Ivy Tech full-time at Ivy Tech and takes at least one class at Purdue as a non-degree student. This non-degree status allows students to take advantage of the programs and facilities at Purdue, including living in a residence hall. The program is designed for beginners, so students with more than 15 graded transfer hours cannot be in the program. Students are expected to transfer to Purdue Agriculture after four semesters, meeting the same requirements as other transfer students. Details are available at www.purdue.edu/pathwaytopurdue.
