The Geodata portal simplified view This screen is the first thing you will see when you go to the Geodata Portal simplified view: The screen is divided into two separate panes: Search and results pane on the left Map pane on the right
8 6 5 7 1 2 4 3 1. Free text search This works the same way as a standard internet search engine. Enter entire or partial text strings, and then click the Search button (3) or press the enter key to carry out the search. The results are shown in the Results pane below (4). Note: Words like och (and) om (if) and eller (or) are not valid since they are found in almost every descriptive text for the layers.
2. Topics Click the field and choose your topic (s) from the drop-down list. Click the Search button (3) or press the enter key to carry out the search. The results are shown in the Results pane below (4). 3. Clear and Search This function is used to search for information entered in to fields (1) or (2) and to clear all search criteria as well as the results of your search (4). 4. The Results pane This pane shows the results of your search with title and producer displayed first. Here a search for fast in the free text search field (note: only test data, more hits in the active portal) is shown:
To obtain a short summary for the layer you can click the name, for example kemi i matjord, alv och gröda, fast fastprovtagningsnät Naturvårdsverket : Or click the small green symbol in the layer to add it to the map (5) You can also click on the layer, hold, and drag it to the map pane. drag and drop Note: Layers added to the map will be greyed out in the search results:
If the layer you have chosen has a legend it will appear when you click the On the map button. (opened by clicking the small arrow to the left of the result): Note: To change the order in which the layers are presented, click the layer in the list on the left hand side of the screen, hold and drag. And drop into the desired order.
Clears ALL the layers from the map. Opens the tools for the layer. Shows / hides the layer in the map pane. Removes the specific layer Allowes you to set the transparency of the layer. Klick here to access a link to the legend for the topografiska webbkartan, the background. 5. Map pane Here you can se the added layer(s), presented on top of each other. You can find the scale at the bottom of the pane and by using the tools (6) you can zoom in and out of the map, or zoom in by double clicking the pane. You can also pan by left clicking on the map, holding the mouse button down, and moving the image.
If you click on an added object in the map information about the object will appear (if availiable for the layer/object in question): 6. Zooma in and out The buttons are used for altering the scale of the map. 7. Create PDF, Help, comment/contact and Other languages Enables you to save your search as a PDF file. Open the user manual, contact us or change the language.
8. Search maplayer/on the map Search map layer takes you to the search and results pane. And On the map shows the active layers for the map.
