Service Description: BCP & DR Strategy (L6) Government Enterprise Architecture Specialists T: 07966 457 571 E: peter@vision-ist.net Overview Visionist will help your organisation develop a Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Strategy. When considering the impact of a disaster, it should be remembered that it: Will never happen at a convenient time; and Is always unpredictable. There is no way of knowing: - When it will happen; - What form it will take; - How much damage it will cause; or - How big the impact will be. The impact of a disaster can vary. A disaster could involve: Total destruction of the premises and its contents, for example as a result of a serious fire; Partial damage, preventing use of the premises, for example through flooding; or No actual physical damage to the premises but restricted access for a limited period, such as enforced evacuation due to a major Gas leak. Therefore, by looking at the potential disaster scenarios you can devise a way of mitigating the risks to reduce the chances of many disasters actually happening. Visionist will draw upon previous similar BCP / DR Strategic Design activities within Central Government departments and bring a wealth of knowledge and template process documentation as part of our Toolkit and devising your BCP and DR strategy. Alternatively, for an informal discussion around how we can help, please telephone 07966 457 571 Information Assurance & Clearance Levels Visionist advisors and associates have prior security clearance for work within specific agencies and departments across the UK Government. There are no specific BILs (business impact levels) associated with our Lot 4 Services, but advisory services have previously been provided at most impact level with clearances typically at a minimum of SC. Please note that no Customer Data will be stored on Visionist systems or sites without a specific request from the Customer. Services are typically performed on site and our advisors can use either Visionist equipment or Customer equipment if required by Customer security guidelines. Scoping & Ordering The simplest method of scoping your requirements is to get in contact with our Director, Peter Miller. Peter will ensure that an appropriate resource is identified for the SFIA level required. Further scoping will depend on the size and nature of the requirement. Please note that to be accepted, orders require an agreed scope of works for Visionist to deliver. Visionist advisors are typically requested on a time and materials basis for a period of 3 months or longer however this does not preclude shorter or alternative profiles (e.g. starting at 80% weekly loading, decreasing to 40% to 60% after 2 months) where services such as Assurance are required over a longer term and resource allocations permit. At Visionist, we like to keep things simple. If you have a requirement we can help you with then the basic process is as follows: 1. Get in contact and agree the scope of works required; 2. Follow the G-Cloud Call-Off procedure (this includes the signing of agreements); 3. Visionist advisors start assisting with your works;
Customer Responsibilities There are a few responsibilities placed upon the Customer as listed below. Note that these recommendations will be agreed and finalised as part of the scoping and subsequent call-off process. 1. Ensure that Visionist and its advisor have current and correct information relating to the scope and services they are providing. (E.g. if Visionist is assisting with strategic direction relating to a planned cloud migration and the Customer s business strategy is changing then it would be pertinent to know this information in order to better assist the Customer). 2. Ensure that any Visionist advisors on site have a safe and secure place to work and access to the people and information they require to assist the Customer. 3. Ensure that time recording information is signed (either electronically or, as an alternative solution, on paper) on a weekly basis; this helps track delivery, milestones and provides reporting information where required. Pricing & Termination Approach, units and discounts are defined in the Pricing Document associated with this Service in the GCloud Catalogue as required under the GCloud Framework approach. The termination terms are defined in the Terms and Conditions document. Please contact us before placing an order to ensure the correct resource capability, allocation & availability. Training Visionist will ensure that appropriate customer key staff receive as much knowledge transfer as possible during any engagement through our open, friendly, peer to peer approach.
