TOURNAMENT CONDITIONS OF PLAY 1. The Tournament is open to all members of NSW Chinese Tennis Association Incorporated (NSWCTA) 2. The Tennis NSW PLAYERS REGISTRATION membership fee is compulsory to all regular competition players. Proof of membership may be required. This membership can be sought through the NSW Chinese Tennis Association during the Easter Tournament. The Tournament shall be under the control of the Tournament Committee, herein referred to as the Committee. 4. Nominations for all events, made on the prescribed form and accompanied by the fees, must reach the Tournament Secretary by the prescribed date. 5. The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations set down by NSWCTA for the carrying out of the tournament except provided therein. 6. The Committee reserves the right to: Disqualify any player not ready to play his or her match when called upon to play. Disqualify any player whose conduct during the Tournament, in its opinion, is deserving of censure. The NSW Tennis Code of Conduct Rules will be enforced. Re-grade players or refuse entry to any player without having to supply the reason for such refusal or re-grading. Cancel any event entirely due to insufficient entries or change the format of any event during the tournament. Alter formats or condition of entry to any event, or even cancel any event during the tournament if circumstances warrant such action. All decisions made by the Committee are final and binding. 7. Competitors Competitors are limited to three (3) events only. Those doing so must be available on all three days and possibly four, in case of inclement weather. Players playing in three (3) Men s Doubles events cannot play with more than two (2) different partners. A match having commenced, a player shall not be allowed to stop or recuperate, except for a period of five (5) minutes after completion of the 2 nd set of the match. Should a player be unable to continue after the umpire/ Committee has called play, the said player shall forfeit the match. In the event of the postponement during the match, play must resume from the exact position at which the match stood at the time of postponement. Competitors must wear recognised tennis attire and approved footwear. Players must be ready to commence play at 9:00Am each day and be prepared to play during the evening, when considered necessary by the Committee. 8. Players are responsible to confirm their time of play for each day. The draw will be available on our website on 2/4/2015. Particulars for the draw during the tournament may be obtained by/from: Website: www.nswcta.org.au after 9:00 pm each night. 9. All competitors must report to the Control Desk On arrival for the first match. Immediately at the completion of a match. Before leaving the grounds. 10. FORMAT OF EVENTS Open (Events No. 1-5) Elimination round (Knock out). Best of three (3) sets, all sets decided by tie-breaker at 6 all. All other events (Events No.6-20) Played as round robin format. Matches played in best of 9 games, sudden death at deuce, receiver s choice, 9 th game played as a tie-breaker. 4
If the event comprises of an even number of groups, the winner will be decided by final play-off, tiebreaker at 5 games all. If the event is made up of an odd numbered group, then the winner will be decided by a final round robin. Tiebreak at 5 games all. The number of matches played in the round robin is subject to the number of entries received and will be determined by the Committee. 11. Grading for EVENTS *A & B Events: - Entrants for these events are subject to the grading of the Committee. - Players graded out of events No. 6-9 will be given the opportunity of contesting in the events No. 1-5. - Players graded out of events No. 10-11 will be given the opportunity to contest in the event No. 6-9 or events No. 1-5. 5
