Updates on MS treatment management 29 January 2016 - Rome, Italy

Aims The multiple sclerosis (MS) treatment scenario is rapidly changing. New drugs are now or will be soon at disposal of clinicians allowing to achieve the goal of no evidence of disease activity and treatment individualisation. As treatment options availability grows, MS neurologists and patients become more demanding about drugs efficacy, safety, side effects and impact on the quality of life. Such complexity requires MS specialists to be proficient in estimation of the risk and benefit of old and new drugs in order to propose an individualised treatment plan. Moreover, they need to learn about how to manage therapies and side effects of in specific frames and think in terms of neuroprotection beyond inflammation. In this focused and intense course world-renowned experts will provide clues on how to build an MS treatment plan, according to risk/benefit assessment and prognostic markers. In the clinical cases session, participants will have the opportunity to discuss treatment strategies according to patient s profile. Hot topics in today MS patients management will be brought to the attention of the participants in a dedicated session of the meeting. Learning objectives By attending this live educational course, participants will be able to: Project an individualised treatment plan in MS Explain how to manage patients day to day issues List the main neurodegenerative and reparative strategy in MS Target audience Neurologists involved in the treatment of persons with multiple sclerosis.
