Offering free Computer training to primary school teachers in order to enable them compete in this highly computerized generation. Datamine farther sees its Extension and Outreach function as an interface between research and training that would make the school relevant to societal needs and national development. Datamine within that context has registered success in a number of ways for instance: VISION To be the leading private training providers in vocational and business training in Uganda. MISSION To offer vocational skills and business training on a sustainable basis for self-reliance. OBJECTIVES OF THE INSTITUTION 1. 4. To contribute to the development of appropriate technology in the country by equipping our students with preliminary skills which can form a basis for the development of indigenous technology 5. To give a competitive edge to our trainees in the labor market by making them multiple skilled in order to confront the challenges created by the information technology age. SUCCESS STORY Datamine boasts of thousands of men and women who have gone through its hands and are out Employed in various public and private organizations though still a many more have managed establish their own businesses and companies and are doing very well. CAMPUSES In the quest to extend technical Education to all over the country Datamine hopes to establish campuses in all regions and currently has two branches namely Kampala (the Main Branch on Bombo Road ) and at Masaka (on Elgin street). PROGRAMMES AND COURSES Datamine has had a strong belief in the use of Information Communications Technology (ICT) to addressing Uganda s major development challenges particularly poverty and unemployment. The promoters of Datamine were intrigued by the magnitude of graduate unemployment and established that the burgeoning graduate unemployment is largely attributed to the miss match and disconnect between demand and supply of skills.
