Administrative - Master Syllabus I. Topical Outline Each offering of this course must include the following topics (be sure to include information regarding lab, practicum, clinical or other non lecture instruction): Concepts of Nursing Management; The Role and Function of the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners; The Texas Nurse Practice Act; Delegation; Legal Aspects of Nursing; Legal Liability of Nursing Practice Political Process and the Nursing Profession; Educational Preparation for Advanced Nursing Practice, Preparation for the Workplace; Nursing Peer Review/TPAPN; Ethical Concerns in Nursing; Models of Care Delivery II. Course Learning Outcomes Course Learning Outcome Analyze The Texas Nurse Practice Act to plan nursing care according to standards and boundaries in professional nursin.g. Implement nursing management concepts, functions, and challenges to care for clients within the scope of established professional nursing practice. Implement strategies to prepare for the NCLEX-RN examination based on identified individual strengths and weaknesses. Midterm Examination Management Report Method of Assessment ATI RN Comprehensive Predictor Examination All students enrolled in the final semester RNSG courses are required to achieve a passing score on the ATI RN Comprehensive Predictor Exam. The passing score = 60th Percentile for ADN Programs. III. Required Text(s), Optional Text(s) and/or Materials to be Supplied by Student. None IV. Suggested Course Maximum - 30 V. Course Requirements/Grading System Describe any course specific requirements such as research papers or reading assignments and the generalized grading format for the course Grading Scale: A = 92-100; B = 83 91;C = 75-82; D = 65-74; F = 0-64 Management Report = 30%; Resume = 10%; Mid-Term Exam= 25%; Report=35% Evidence of NCLEX-RN readiness by scoring in the 60th percentile on the ATI RN Comprehensive Predictor Examination the student will be given three attempts to earn this score prior to the end of the semester.
