South Africa Pilgrimmage April 2014 Day 1 Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport Upon arrival at Johannesburg Airport you will be met by Stuart and Audrey and transfer to Tsogo Sun Hotel to rest after your journey. Time permitting, this afternoon an optional visit to the Apartheid Museum is planned. Visitors cannot help but come away with a deeper understanding and appreciation of South Africa, its darkest days and its brightest triumphs from a racist state into Africa s beacon of hope, with one of the most enlightened constitutions on the planet. Dinner and Overnight at Tsogo Sun Hotel, Johannesburg. D/B&B. Day 2 Johannesburg to Old Joe s Kaia We depart after breakfast and drive along the N4 to our next stop at Old Joe s Kaia in Schoemanskloof. This rustic Guesthouse will be our home for the next 2 nights as Guests of Paul and Marian (whose cooking is divine) and our base for a visit to Adam s Calendar. En route we will make a short break for refreshments and a light lunch. At leisure at Old Joe s Kaia and time this afternoon to enjoy the Labyrinth. Dinner and overnight at Old Joe s Kaia. D/B&B.
Day 3 Old Joe s Kaia Adam s Calendar After breakfast we will visit one of the ancient ruins that form part of a mysterious civilization that created a vast network of structures throughout Southern Africa and known as the Temples of the gods. An estimated 20,000 of these ancient structures are spread over 4000 kilometers from South Africa to Kenya. Intricate Reiki symbols and Phi ratios make up the structure of some ruins which contain stones of black reef shale that, when struck together, make a ringing sound and are believed to have been used to generate energy for use by the ancient people. Aerial view of Ancient Ruins This afternoon we travel to visit Adam s Calendar the oldest archeo-astronomical site on earth and believed to be the original birthplace of humanity. Adams Calendar Dated 75,000 years old, this stone calendar predates all other man-made structures found to date. During our 2 day visit to this area you will learn the significance of its siting above Lulungwa Mangakatsi Africa s legendary underground river - the spinal fluid of earth - and its association with gold. - Time for a late afternoon meditation before our return to Old Joe s Kaia Dinner and overnight at Old Joe s Kaia. D/B&B. Day 4 Old Joe s Kaia to Kruger National Park After breakfast we depart for the Kruger National Park, Malelane Gate. We will enter the Park at Malelane Gate where you will board your open Game vehicle. Game Viewing activities start here and during our travel through the southern section of Kruger Park en route to our overnight destination in Biyamiti Bush Camp.
Kruger National Park Your accommodation in this private bush camp is in comfortable 2 bed-roomed chalets, each with its own open lounge and kitchen area. Overnight at Biyamiti Bush Camp, Kruger National Park. D/L/B&B. Day 5 & 6 Kruger National Park An early wake-up call and you set off for some Game Viewing in search of Africa s unique and varied wildlife. Be sure to have your cameras and binoculars with you. Kruger National Park Return to Biyamiti at around 09h30 in time for a breakfast feast. After breakfast, time is scheduled for rest and relaxation during the heat of the day and in the late afternoon you will go on a sunset game drive.
Game Viewing - Kruger National Park Sunset is a special time in the park where we stop in silence to listen to and experience the stillness and night sounds of this sacred place with a meditation on the granite rocks in the Biyamiti Riverbed. Sunset - Kruger National Park On return to camp, after a sundowner drink, we will use spotlights to see some of the nocturnal animals of Kruger. Dinner will be ready on arrival at Biyamiti Camp after the night drive and enjoyed around a fire under the stars followed by a group closure. Overnight at Biyamiti Bush Camp, Kruger National Park. D/L/B&B. Day 7 Kruger National Park Blyde Canyon Check out of Biyamiti after breakfast and depart the Kruger National Park via Skukuza Camp where we stop for refreshments and a little shopping before exiting the Park at Kruger Gate en route to Blyde River Canyon Lodge where you will settle into your accommodation. Situated at the base of the magnificent Drakensburg Mountain Range, your lodge is in a valley in the center of which is a conical, pyramid shaped mountain whose African name Modimole, translates as - God is Here.
Blyde River Canyon Lodge Relax and explore the lovely Botanical Reserve before dinner at the lodge. Dinner and Overnight at Blyde River Canyon Lodge. D/B&B. Day 8 Blyde Canyon A leisurely breakfast and some relaxing time this morning before heading off for lunch at the Cotton Club and you will have some time to shop at the Silk factory. After lunch we will take a boat ride in the Blyde Canyon into the area of the powerful energy vortex of the canyon. As well as being a place of power, the canyon is one of the most beautiful spots in South Africa. Blyde Canyon Dinner and overnight at Blyde River Canyon Lodge. D/L/B&B. Day 9 Blyde Canyon Today will be a leisurely day with the Group gathering for meditation / sharing after a late breakfast.
We will have lunch at the lodge and this afternoon a visit to Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation center to see some of the wonderful work being done by Brian and his team. Here you will have close up encounters with many of Africa s exciting wildlife including a baby Rhino, a leopard, honey badger, serval, eagles and a host of other animals and birds cared for at this wildlife sanctuary. Dinner and overnight at Blyde River Canyon Lodge. D/L/B&B. Day 10 Blyde Canyon The Panorama Route awaits us today. This spectacular drive incorporates the scenic and mystical sites of the Blyde Canyon Escarpment including The Potholes, God s Window and an ancient and sacred ceremonial altar at the Three Rondawels. 3 Rondawels Lunch and a little shopping time will be in Graskop before our return to Blyde Canyon River Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Blyde River Canyon Lodge. D/L/B&B. Day 11 Blyde Canyon White Lion Camp Today you will visit the Global White Lion camp in Timbavati where you will meet with Linda Tucker and resident Lion specialist, Jason Turner for a unique experience with Africa s most sacred animal the White Lion of the Timbavati. Predicted by African Shamans to appear at this critical time, the White Lions carry an important message for mankind. During your day at the White Lion heritage site your itinerary will include a presentation by Jason Turner, the resident lion ecologist; and a presentation by Linda Tucker charting the ancient Egyptian links between Timbavati and The Great Sphinx of Gisa.
White Lions of Timbavati There will be an opportunity to join the scientific monitoring team on an authentic White Lion experience with a tracking session guided by Jason and his staff and you will have lunch and dinner around the camp fire. Days 12 & 13 White Lion Camp Summerfields An early morning drive to see the White Lions in their natural habitat before returning to Camp for breakfast.
