The Good Luminis IV is a significant improvement: Name Change/Account Aliasing RSS 2.0 JSR 168 Targeted Content Channels and Improved Targeted Announcements Even though there were flaws in the Beta, Sungard has been actively addressing them and is still moving forward with Q1 GA release 10
The Bad GA release will be a fresh install and migration, not upgrade. GA release may require another machine for comm express? Now, where did I put that: Banner integration is not yet completed/released for testing by schools Migration process/script has not yet been completed/released for testing by schools Integrated Modes System Monitoring tools 11
The Ugly Rocky Beta process: Rolling updates would have helped Increase # of status meetings Uncertainty on issues other beta testers were experiencing Delays in code readiness caused delays in project 12

Summary Overall, the Beta experience was worth the effort GA still expected for Q1 of 2007 According to Sungard, many clients will deploy in Fall and some will even deploy in Summer When will we deploy Luminis IV? 16
