Rapid Prototype Services CNC Machining We offer CNC (computer numerical control) machining services to create prototype concept models for parts that require specific production material properties. CNC machining is a subtractive manufacturing method which cuts away unwanted material from a workpiece to form the shape of the needed part. This is a cost-effective, consistent and accurate method of producing Prototypes from actual production-grade materials. CNC Machining Highlights Parts are machined from solid blocks of a variety of plastic and metals. Parts are machined directly from your 3D CAD models. Ability to hold tight tolerances (+/- 0.005"). This is the cheapest way to create prototypes with fast delivery. Page 3

Rapid Prototype Services Stereolithography (SLA) SLA builds parts one layer at a time by tracing a laser beam on the surface of a vat of liquid photosensitive resin. The photosensitive resin is solidified by the laser light. After each layer is traced, it is lowered a small distance into the liquid and the next layer is traced, bonding to the previous layer. After all layers are traced, the completed 3D model rises from the vat to be removed for cleaning and careful hand finishing. The SLA Highlights SLA builds plastic prototypes with high accuracy, excellent detail and great surface finish SLA prototypes are used to evaluate product appearance and verify assembly of components. Standard Stereolithography Tolerances: +/- 0.005" for the first inch, +/- 0.002 on every inch thereafter. Page 6

Rapid Prototype Services Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) uses a computer controlled laser to sinter powder based materials together, layer-by-layer, to create a solid model. Once the model is complete, it is removed from the platform and finished by removing any loose material and smoothing the visible surfaces. The SLS Highlights SLS prototypes can be served as functional rapid prototypes. SLS technology delivers tolerances of +/- 0.005 of an inch and produces features as small as 0.020 of an inch. Rapid Prototype Services RTV Molding and CAST URETHANE Prototypes To produce molds using the RTV molding process, we start with a master pattern that is made with SLA or CNC. Liquid silicone rubber is poured around the master pattern. Once the silicone is cured, the mold is cut open to remove the master pattern. The mold is then used to cast the urethane parts under a vacuum with molding machines using computer control.
