Tacoma Narrows Bridge Washington State Department of Transportation PROGRAM VALUE LOCATION $615,000,000 Pierce County, Washington Parsons was the engineer-of-record for the first suspension bridge delivered using the design-build method in the United States. Our scope included design of a third suspension bridge across the Puget Sound s Tacoma Narrows, upgraded design for the existing suspension bridge, and design of 2.5 miles of roadway and toll operations facilities. By implementing the engineering design, we eliminated a tunnel and reduced grading work, delivering this fast-track project ahead of schedule and under budget. The new bridge designed to accommodate a future lower level for light rail or highway lanes improves safety, adds capacity, provides a bicycle/ pedestrian path, and enhances access to outlying communities. This project won several regional and national awards, including an Excellence Achievement Award from the National Safety Council. Southeast Corridor Transportation Expansion (T-REX) Colorado Department of Transportation and Regional Transportation District PROGRAM VALUE LOCATION $1,670,000,000 Denver, Colorado As part of a joint venture, Parsons was the design lead on this reconstruction and expansion project the nation s largest multimodal effort. Your team faced significant challenges in transforming the vision of T-REX into reality.
