2 COOLSIDE box GENERAL FEATURES COOLSIDE BOX is a split system consisting of an outdoor motocondensing unit equipped with inverter driven variable speed compressor and of an indoor evaporating unit supplied together with the server-rack designed to house electronic equipment. COOLSIDE BOX is a close-loop system (direct cooling system) where the air conditioned directly flows into the server-rack. Direct cooling system COOLSIDE sucks hot air directly from the rear side of the racks, and, once cooled, enters it in the front side of the rack. COOLSIDE SERVER-RACK COOLSIDE BOX is able to dissipate thermal load from 2 up to 22kW; the modularity of the system together with the logic of adaptive microprocessor control, make this new RCGroup system the best solution for cooling of electronic equipment of new generation, characterized by high heat density. These features, together with RCGroup quality and reliability construction, make COOLSIDE BOX the system ideal for conditioning of telephone exchanges, data banks, internet hotels, server farms and all electronic architectures with high heat density. COOLSIDE box 3 AN EFFICIENT ENERGY USE One of the most important characteristics of coolside box units is their high energy efficiency, both at design and at the various operating conditions experienced during the year. The motocondensing units are equipped with inverter driven compressor allowing proportional control of the cooling capacity, while the axial fans electric motors are brushless type with built-in electronic commutation system (EC). The evaporating units are equipped with plug-fan directly coupled to brushless type electric motor with built-in electronic commutation system (EC). These electric motors ensuring high performances, minimum energy consumption and total absence of electromagnetic noise. Furthermore, the system close-loop that characterizes this series of machines, ensures a drastic reduction of energy losses typical of systems with cold and hot aisle, as well as the expensive infrastructure investments to achieve containment of the cold aisle. The system is highly efficient since it is supplying the energy necessary to satisfy the required thermal load only; furthermore it is possible to supply thermal or cooling energy even in case of overload conditions of the system. The working range of coolside box, in comparison to the nominal values of cooling and thermal capacity output, varies on average from 35% to 120%. DE BOX

TOTAL FLEXIBILITY The COOLSIDE BOX system is extremely modular and flexible and easily adapts to any installation requirements. COOLSIDE box 5 NO CONSTRAINTS OF INSTALLATION The system COOLSIDE BOX can be installed in any civil environment without the need for dedicated infrastructure. EASY AND SMART INSTALLATION The air conditioning section is factory assembled, connected and charged with refrigerant gas, lubricant oil and equipped with control and protection devices. The system needs only electric and refrigerant connections. The server - rack is provided with power supply distribution system with power cables and plugs. THE SERVER RACK The server-rack is made of painted steel sheet RAL 7035. The rack is a 19 standard type (482,6 mm) - 42U (1,75 inch = 44,45 mm). The server - rack is in compliance with IEC 60 297-1/2 norms. Maximum load capacity for internal installation 1000 kg. The front door has a large opening angle of about 130 to allow easy access to internal components The door is made of safety glass 3 mm thick and allows direct control of the internal equipment. The back side door is made of painted steel sheet with a wide opening angle. The doors are equipped with handle with security lock 3524 E. The bus bar with maximum load of 96 A (7 modules 2 x 3 x 16A) and the power supply cord are offered as optionals. DE BOX

COOLSIDE box 7 MICROPROCESSOR CONTROL SYSTEM Microprocessor control system for the management and monitoring of the working and alarm statuses. The system includes: Voltage free contact for general alarm. Main components hour meter, with programmed maintenance intervention. Data logger integrated function for the events and alarms recording. Flash memory for the data storage in case of lack of power supply. Menu management with protection password. The monitoring, the programming procedure, the working status and parameter visualization, are made by the 6 keys display placed on the indoor evaporating unit.
