MONEXT, Partnering merchants and the service industry Monext s objective is to facilitate transactions in France and Europe for both merchants and consumers. We have two product lines destined for the European merchant sector: Payline, our secure e-commerce payment solution, and Payavenue for centralised POS payments. These payment solutions offer multiple payment methods, multi-currency and multi-lingual options and are designed to help merchants expand beyond their national boundaries. Card present and card not present payments has been developed in order to respond to the challenges facing today s businesses. Cards are used almost everywhere, for both low and high-value purchases. Monext s contribution to this success story is to constantly develop new operational features designed to make our day-to-day lives easier: contactless payment, combined credit-debit cards, customer loyalty schemes, cash back etc. We were also ahead of our time in the field of e-commerce, having launched the Payline secure electronic payment solution as early as 1996. Initially designed for telephone order and online sales, Payline is ideal for all mobile environments, enabling secure payments to be made via PDA as well as by smartphone. Monext s approach to transactions can be summed up as follows : adapting to all payment channels and applications, to all situations, ensuring that making payments is easy. Payments, Europe and electronic payments Paper-based payments are increasingly being supplanted by electronic payments. Credit and debit cards are immensely popular in Europe. According to the ECB, cards made up almost 37% of cashless transactions carried out in Europe in 2007. In recent years, technological advances (the development of cardholder activated terminals supplying products and services, the huge growth in internet and mobile phone use) have given rise to new environments in which payments are performed by both businesses and consumers. We have therefore embarked on a new phase - that of payment services going electronic. There is a constant stream of new, innovative payment instruments using the internet or mobile phone as channels, operating through the banks or using private e-currency. Even if, for the time being, credit and debit cards still dominate the market, payment via mobile phone would seem to represent the future of payments, if we believe Jupiter Research, which predicts that half of all mobile phone users worldwide will use their phones to make payments between now and 2014, in other words, around 1 billion people more than in 2010. Security by MONEXT Anti-fraud measures, authentication systems, secure servers we believe that security is the key to encouraging growth in the transactions market Every year we process hundreds of millions of payment transactions and large quantities of sensitive data. As a result, we must be able to give our customers a guarantee that the transfer and processing of all data is carried out securely. All our real-time transactions are protected by real-time security measures thanks to our authorisation and authentication systems (3D-secure). We also help fight fraud by means of a highly-effective, purpose-designed solution. Monext has its own security team that looks after the interests of the company and its clients in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 27001 information security standard. Monext has drawn up a security policy that it applies to all facilities management tasks it performs for its clients. In our role as a payments processor, we began the process of gaining PCI DSS certification for all our payment solutions several years ago. Our Payline and Payavenue payment acceptance solutions are now PCI DSS-certified, as is our electronic payments Customer Service Centre, one of only a few such centres in Europe to have received this certification. Our aim is for all our packages to be awarded PCI DSS certification by the end of 2012.
