1.0 Product Flow User Manual: IRDA/ Nonlife V2 - MMIS Technologies Application developed under Map Management Information Systems ( MMIS ) concepts and Technologies have following sections /frames for representing MIS in Visual knowledge mode which enables IRDA nonlife department officials to take better informed decisions that could help in effective regulation of the industry by the authorities. Salient features of the application - MMIS premium product Self operable Download and publish context excel sheet Visual knowledge Boards Need and Contextual knowledge emits Dynamic analysis upload and update features Deployment of application ensures green technologies The application is self operable and user friendly 1. Pick & Process MIS: 2. Legends 3. Ranking legends (Decision Publishing Tools) - User choice 4. Upload 5. Transparent 6. Show National % The Map Management Information Systems approach is Geographic context, as entire Insurance Industry is Geographic specific and thus Geography is the source and resource for Regulation and Development of Insurance Industry. 3

We move and proceed to publish the application outputs in map format with context to various states operations of whole 37 insurers in the country to the authorities in newer intelligent format that spurs strategic content for strategic decisions which is very unique and first of its kind. Opening Screen of Nonlifev2 application: A common frame work of India map consisting 35 administrative boundaries of states and Union territories as per Census 2001 is base the frame work on which Form I, III &IV details are streamed pertaining to all nonlife insurers in the country in various permutations and combinations to the need of Nonlife officials at IRDA. 4

1. Pick & Process MIS Frame Pick and Process MIS consist A & B sections that are self operable to pick and process basic information pertaining to form I, III & IV. MIS A - the base frame: The frame consists Department, Quarter, Year, Insurer type & the Insurers drop down list one can select of their need to the contextual requirement to publish to monitor the role of insurer in the state/ut. MIS B - The analytic frame In continuation to base frame select(mis A) the MIS B would emit comprehensive knowledge where prime form I can be analyzed based on Policy nos & Premium, with respect to product output product wise/company wise in a bar or pie diagram 5

LIS - Land Information systems User Manual: IRDA/ Nonlife V2 - MMIS Technologies This model is not evoked it is aimed at streaming location specific Business Intelligence from the environment that features is available for "Premium Plus" module that would stream secondary information knowledge such as population, literacy levels, disasters details when customized and integrated to user need and context. The purpose of Integration LIS to MIS frame work is to cater 100% information to IRDA officials that could strengthen the Regulation and Development efforts of the authorities from time to time. GIS - Geographic Information Systems The processed inputs in MIS A & B would be represented on to the state Boundaries with color variations that can be interpreted on volumes of business done by different Insurers in the country Currently the data analysis is done at state level, and can be further drilled down at District and sub-district level for Micro analysis of the operations. Boundaries of Districts and sub-districts displayed for better apprehension and value of spatial analysis of the Industry performance 6

2.0 Computation of Form I - Map Interpretation In the frame work given below: We have chosen all quarter values for FY 2011-12 for entire Insurers for all Insurance type of LOB products for entire 13 products duly represented LOB wise analysis of top three companies in the bar diagram view. The output communicate the receipt of premium by Insurers for the FY 2011-12 in different states/ut which can be visually interpreted that classifies different shade of colors for premium collection in four equated class intervals i.e. 1. Upto 25% range I 2. upto 50% range II 3. upto 75% range III 4. upto 100% range IV the values are generalized in four equal class intervals for all published data weather all states or one or in any combination of user choice to his need and context. 8

Above processed output to the form I details are represented whole for FY 2011-12 represented in one map which shows premium values collected by all insurers in the state and country a whole. On the right side of the application frame the processed MIS A &B values are represented with color shade of green color, lighter the shade less the premium and darker the shade higher premium collection Ranking legends: mode of representation of state wise business of different Insurers. Top state will be first rank and the state that has lower premium will be taking last position. Also when clicked on state the graph will appear based upon user choice Pie/Bar diagram where all companies premium against each product is displayed as below of top three companies and one can view all the companies details from the pagination provided below in given below map window or download the 9

"contextual excel sheet" also transparent provision is made to view the map surroundings Given below the series of screen shots that depicts insurers operations in the given state along with "contextual work sheet" the advantage Graphs will be displayed only when two companies are chosen for the given criterion as per user choice. Graph will not get displayed if one company is selected as the graph is for comparisons between minimum of two companies 10

all the above, outputs are of standard features that are programmed i.e. the values are divided into four class intervals. For the purpose user specific customization we have designed tool namely 14

3.0 Ranking Legends Ranking legends is very unique and a powerful tool that can be customized by the user for publishing the decisions to the need and context of users for various purposes pertaining to penetration and spread of business in various states in the country. Default screen for form I This frame consists following: 1. Append: to change the percentage of output values from the generalized class interval ranges to customized ranges of user choice Delete: can delete the range inserted 2. save: after complete customized ranges are defined and framed in the frame "%" wise (ranges have to be begun with "0" lower limit with range of class interval I, and "100" as Upper limit for last class interval range of lto Publish knowledge/intelligence with context to Industry penertaration for form I, in any combination of user choice. 3. undo : undo is undoing the changes made 4. Reset to default: after publishing the knowledge user has to reset for publishing the normal generalized results of the nonlife v2 application. 5. Close: close is for closing the the "Decision Publishing Window" 6. Publish : After saving the content of changes of ranges as per choice select publish to publish the custmized output of user choice User can select range wse color choice given in the color pallet of the Decision Publishing tool for each class ranges. 15

User can append the class interval of his choice more than or less than IV that are standaridized in main map frame of the application Pl find screen shot of the process Frame of Decision Publishing tool: After having published the output as demonstrated above, for the values either in policy nos. or Premium collected of insurers for form I of LOB selected, with that output as base one can customize same map view i.e. generalized in four equal ranges of class interval viz., upto 25% - range I - 0-25 upto 50% - range II - 26-50 upto 75% - range III - 51-75 upto 100% - range IV - 76-100 16

Above view of customized legend for user defined class intervals Mode of operating Decision Publishing Tool: The frame has following: Select form I 1. S.No : serial no of classes 2. Classes : class interval defining, user can also write a comment in the column to suit contextual requirements for record 3. Legend : Color pallets are given to choose as per user choice 4. Min range (in %) - whole contextual outputs have to be defined in terms of percentage 5. Max range (in%) - maximum range for each class has to be defined in the below screen shots/views Here in below example a case for customizing the color and class interval has been demonstrated Class I - Legend (Red) - Min range (0%) - Max range (5%) Class II - Legend (Yellow) - Min Range (5%) - Max range (10%) Class III - Legend (Dark blue) - Min range (11%) - max range (20%) Class IV - Legend (Green) - Min range (21%) - max range (30%) Class V - Legend (Sky blue) - Min range (31%) - max range (50%) Class VI - Legend (very light brown) - Min range (51%) max range (100%) we may note from the below screen shot/views as per above classification of ranges new pattern of Penetration of Industry has surfaced which otherwise when classified in general context it is only two ranges, now when customized it has three colors. The above process, will help user to analyse as per his contextual need and requirements from time to time. 17
