GoDaddy Accounts & IMAP Match My Email syncs email seamlessly between GoDaddy Workspace and Salesforce.com, but you must have a GoDaddy Unlimited email account. This is because Match My Email must communicate with an email server, service or account that is IMAP enabled. IMAP is only available in the Unlimited level. IMAP vs. POP IMAP is necessary based on the way it works with email. IMAP is an abbreviation of the email standard called Internet Message Access Protocol. IMAP is the successor of an earlier email standard called POP which stands for Post Office Protocol. The difference between IMAP and POP in that IMAP stores a copy of each email on both the cloud and the end-user device whether it is a desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. POP, on the other hand, immediately downloads the email to the device, stores it on the device and erases it from the cloud. Because IMAP creates a complete inbound and outbound email log in the cloud no emails are missing because they have NOT been immediately downloaded to a device as with POP - Match My Email can import, analyze and match emails every 20 minutes creating a complete email log.
GoDaddy users that do not have the Unlimited account must perform an upgrade that will increase their monthly subscription cost, generally by less than $1.00 per month. It is worth noting that the IMAP account does ensure that there is a backup of emails always available on the server. An IMAP account also allows users to have access to all their emails regardless of what device they are using or when they access email, because all their messages are always there unless a user deletes them. **Before scheduling a Match My Email setup with support staff, please follow the steps below to verify an unlimited account and/or upgrade so that account has IMAP access.
