AG CM has become the premier estimating and construction management firm in South Texas. Mr. Swinney manages estimating department supervising all processes and training, prepares cost estimates from concept to construction document phases, and throughout construction, performs constructability review and value engineering services as an active participant in the design process, and assists with on and off site project management from programming to project completion. In 2000, the General Services Department (GSD) was established to construct and maintain the City s building portfolio, representing 7.7 million square feet of occupied space. As a full service department, GSD assists in identifying the appropriate real estate solutions and provides design and construction services for the development of a facility. Once a facility is ready for occupation, GSD provides energy, property and security management services to ensure the lights come on and the facility is clean, well-maintained and secure. To further enhance the operation of its facilities, GSD established the Sustainable Growth division. This division is responsible for implementing green and sustainable property and energy management solutions with the intent of reducing operating costs and improving client satisfaction. Mr. Richard Vella is Chief of Design and Construction at General Services Department Mr. Vella holds a Bachelor of Technology in Architectural Science from Ryerson University at Toronto and a Master of Architecture from the University of Houston During his tenure, Mr. Vella has managed over 90 design and construction projects totaling in excess of $400 million dollars.

Prior to his current position, he served as Chief of Design for the General Services Department. As Chief of Design and Construction, Mr. Vella is responsible for overseeing the design and construction of city facilities serving Houston s citizens such as police stations, fire stations, libraries, parks and recreation centers, health clinics and multi-service centers, municipal courts, recycling centers and waste depositories, and fleet maintenance facilities. Adil Godiwalla, P.E. Assistant Director, Design Division: Houston Airport Systems Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, University of Missouri at Rolla in 1966 Registered Professional Engineer, Texas, Florida, Illinois Over 45 years of all round Civil Engineering experience. Presented over 50 technical papers in Airport Engineering at various conferences and seminars Member of the Federal Aviation Administration Working Group Committee Mr. Venky Nagasandra, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP Holds the position of Senior Project Management Mr. Venky has vast experience in design and construction administration since he obtained his architectural license in 1983. He worked in several architectural and engineering firms in Houston and Boston until he joined the City in May 1993. He is licensed in interior design and certified by National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and is a LEED accredited professional. He has worked on several high profile projects such as Kendell Library, Holcombes Laboratories and PWE Fleet Maintenance buildings. Mr. Venky stays continually abreast of current design trends and technologies by attending seminars hosted by American Institute of Architects, Texas Society of Architects and the U.S. Green Building Council.
