Guiding idea z There is something of a paradox in the cultural relations between Brazil and the United States. z We are intensely exposed to US culture in its various forms cinema, literature, sports etc. and through every type of medium. z But in Brazil, we do not have a research area on the United States its culture, politics, economy and society. z We know much about the United Sates, but we do not truly know it.
