1 MASTER PROGRAM OF SOCIAL WORK Education-qualification degree: MASTER Proffessional qualification: Master of Social work Duration: year Mode of study: full-time The Department of Social-medical Sciences is responsible for organization of the education in Social work. The aim of education in Social activities is to provide theoretical and practical basis for integration of medical, psychological, educational, sociological, juridical knowledge and skills. The Master degree program has been accredited by National Agency for evaluation and accreditation with a highest for the period of 6 years (protocol 16 from ). The tuition in the Master degree program is aimed to prepare well-trained specialists for Psycho-health Services through extending scientific-theoretical and specialized preparation in professional direction Social Work. The education assures theoretical and practical preparation in the field of Social Work and the specific problems of persons, groups and communities in realizing Social work. The basic purpose in this education is to hold out knowledge and abilities for work with people with grave mental disease and their families through therapeutically approach for learning lost social skills and abilities for independent life. The Master of Social work has to be able to: To serve as resource pool of teaching, research and training for governmental, non-governmental and international stakeholders in the field; To meet the growing demand of internal and external stakeholders for skilled and professional manpower; To broaden the research horizon of instructors, students and visiting scholars; To meet the growing demand for analysts, researchers, policy advisors, liaison officers; To open an avenue of choice for prospective students who have already articulated their demands; and, To lay a firm foundation for Master degree program in the field of Social work. The graduate can also work as researchers, tutors, organizers, manager or specialists in the system of social care, health, judicial or police systems can defend a doctorate in the field of social care. The Master of Social work is prepared to work as: -promoter, instructor or specialist in every social structure; -promoter, instructor or specialist in every services, in which there is regulated position, demanding realization of Social Worker - Health, Judicial, Psycho-social Services, Day Centers, Supporting Houses, etc. -tutor, research worker etc.

S.Stoyanova Psychology is an academic and applied discipline involving the scientific study of mental processes and behavior. It studies such phenomena as perception, cognition, emotion, personality, behavior, and interpersonal relationships and also refers to the application of such knowledge to various spheres of human activity, including issues related to everyday life (e.g. family, education, and employment) and the treatment of mental health problems. Psychology includes many sub-fields of study and application concerned with such areas as human development, sports, health, industry, media, and law. General psychology studies the mental processes form in all ages. And the social the process of living in community. Teaching methods are lecture, causes, paper, conspectus, tests and questionnaires. 4 Statistics is a mathematical science pertaining to the collection, analysis, interpretation or explanation, and presentation of data. Purpose of the discipline: Demographic analysis can be applied to whole societies or to groups defined by criteria such as education, nationality, religion and ethnicity and analyze the relationships between economic, social, cultural and biological processes influencing a population. Statistical methods can be used to summarize or describe a collection of data and may be modeled in a way that accounts for randomness and uncertainty in the observations, and are then used to draw inferences about the process or population being studied. Thus social policy is that part of public policy that has to do with social issues. Social policy aims to improve human welfare and to meet human needs for education, health, housing and social security.
