Crop Research Institute (CRI) The Crop Research Institute was established in 1951. The basic aim of CRI is the development of scientific knowledge in the fields of integrated crop production and production of safe foodstuffs, as well as the creation of bases for the sustainable development of agriculture and environment protection. During the sixty-four years of its existence, CRI has been the leading research institution in the field of crop production in the Czech Republic. The mission of CRI is primarily strategic and applied research in the field of crop production. CRI fills the space between the pure research implemented at universities and the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the applied specialized research implemented at private institutes and field stations.
