Energy policy Vantaa Energy Ltd is one of Finland s largest urban energy companies. The company is owned by the City of Vantaa (60 %) and the City of Helsinki (40 %). Vantaa Energy produces and sells electricity and district heating. In addition, it offers natural gas for the requirements of industry. The company is responsible for the construction and maintenance of district heating networks in Vantaa. It will be done by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. The meaning of local, regional and innovative energy solutions has increased lately. These new solutions can have influence to city planning. Vantaan Energy Ltd and City of Vantaa want to study new possiblities to produce/deliver heat and even electricity for the new housing and working area. The old traditional district heating system is not valid in lowenergy areas. Pipelines length, diameter, temperature etc. There will be low-energy building projects, passive houses, geoenergy solutions etc. in Marja-Vantaa. We are offering a good Living Lab for new ideas/innovations.
