Welcome to Cox Business Online Backup: Thank you for choosing Cox Business Online Backup powered by Mozy. This guide includes step-by-step instructions to set up and begin using Online Backup. Soon you will have a secure and reliable backup solution that keeps your data online and accessible. Plus, you will be able to customize and schedule backups easily so you can focus on running your business. Cox Business Online Backup encrypts data locally before backing it up to off-site data centers over a 128-bit SSL connection. Backups are stored in Mozy s state-ofthe-art data center with 448-bit Blowfish encryption to ensure the data is protected. Part One: First-Time Access to MyAccount In order to install Cox Business Online Backup you must have a Cox Business MyAccount Profile. If you already have a Cox Business MyAccount Profile, please go to Part Two of this guide. First-Time Access to MyAccount 1. You will receive a welcome e-mail prior to your installation date from myaccount@coxbusiness.com. NOTE: You should receive e-mail notification within a couple minutes. Check your spam folder if you do not see the e-mail notification in your Inbox, and add @coxbusiness.com to your e-mail safe sender list. 2. In the e-mail you will receive your username and password. 3. Click on the embedded link within the e-mail to complete the registration process. 4. Click on Go to Login Page in the center of the screen. 5. Look for Welcome to your new Cox Business MyAccount. 6. Complete the personalized secret question and answer. NOTE: The answer must be between 5 and 20 characters in length. 7. Complete the contact options and preferences information. 8. Click on Save. 9. You have now successfully logged onto the Cox Business Online Backup MyAccount screen. To Change Your Password 1. Click on the Change Password link located on the top of the page under your login name. 2. Enter the current or default password in the Current Password section. 3. Enter the new password in the New Password section. 4. Re-enter the new password in the Confirm New Password section. Your password must meet the following requirements: Must fall between 8 and 24 alphanumeric characters long. Must include at least one letter and one number. May include punctuation characters. May not include or form the word password. May not be your username. NOTE: For security purposes, it is suggested that you frequently update your password and do not share it with anyone. 5
Part Two: Installing Cox Business Online Backup 1. After successfully logging into MyAccount, select the Data Tools menu. 2. Click Online Backup in the menu bar or Activate Online Backup in the center of your screen. 3. Read the Online Backup License Agreement and select Accept. 4. Click Continue and you will receive an e-mail from donotreply@coxbusiness.com within a couple minutes that confirms your activation request. Check your spam folder if you do not see the e-mail notification in your Inbox, and add @coxbusiness.com to your e-mail safe sender list. You must wait for the e-mail before downloading. 6
5. Return to MyAccount and log in. 6. Select Data Tools. 7. Select Online Backup from the navigation panel. 8. Important: Before you download and install the application, go to the Activate Online Backup Users section to select yourself from the drop-down list and click Activate. Then, allocate space to yourself before you download and install the application. You will receive an e-mail from donotreply@coxbusiness.com to activate your online backup service that will include your license key and MyAccount profile ID. Note: If your name does not appear in the drop-down list, click the Profile Administration link and create a new MyAccount user. Then return to Online Backup to activate yourself. See page 15 for Allocated Space options for all users. 9. Click Download & Install Application. The Cox Business Online Backup installation wizard will appear. 7
10. Follow the prompts through the Installation Wizard and then click Next once the setup wizard screen appears. Click Next to install to the default folder or click Change to choose another destination folder. 11. Click Next or Change to choose another destination folder. 12. Click Install to begin the installation. The configuration wizard will help you configure Cox Business Online Backup to work with your computer. 13. Click the checkbox next to Launch Online Backup Configuration Wizard to begin configuration of Online Backup. 14. Click Finish to exit the setup wizard. 9
15. The configuration wizard will now open. 16. Enter the license key that was provided to you in the welcome e-mail and your Cox Business MyAccount user name. (Your Cox Business MyAccount user name is the e-mail address associated with your MyAccount profile.) Click Next to continue. 17. Enter your profile ID that was provided to you in the welcome e-mail and select Next to continue. You can log into MyAccount to locate your MyAccount Profile ID. 10
18. Select the files you wish to back up and select Next to continue. Right click your mouse and choose edit backup set if you would like to change the default backup sets. Note: To increase your backup quota, please contact your backup administrator. 19. The Test Results screen automatically appears. To perform a diagnostics check, click on the link in the center of your screen and wait to receive a message that states is your Internet circuit is compatible with Online Backup. Click Next to continue. 11
20. To make your backup speed selection, drag your mouse between Faster Computer and Quicker Backups. Click Next to continue. NOTE: Cox Business recommends that you set your first Online Backup to run at ¾ speed, so that backups run quickly and will not slow down your computer. 21. Congratulations. The Cox Business Online Backup Installation is complete. Select one of the following backup options and click Finish. I d like to start my initial backup right now! 22. Part Three: Managing Users Activating Users This section applies to users who have online backup administration privileges. 1. Log in to MyAccount. 2. Important: Before you download and install the application, go to the Activate Online Backup Users section to select yourself from the drop-down list and click Activate. 3. Select Data Tools. 4. Select Online Backup from the navigation panel. 5. In the Activate Online Backup Users section, select the user from the dropdown list and click Activate. The user s name will appear in the Allocate Storage list. NOTE: If the user does not appear in the drop-down list, click the Profile Administration link and create a new MyAccount user. Then return to Online Backup to activate the user. 14 NOTE: Each user that has allocated space will receive an e-mail from donotreply@coxbusiness.com within a couple minutes that confirms the online backup service has been activated for that user. The e-mail will include their MyAccount profile ID and license key. Go back to step 6 on page 7 to download and install the Online Backup Application.
Allocated Space 1. Select Data Tools. 2. Select Online Backup from the navigation pane. 3. In the Allocate Storage list, click Edit beside the user that needs more space. 4. Type the number of GB you want to allocate to the user and click the Save link. NOTE: You must allocate storage in 1 GB increments. 5. Now you have successfully added a new user. Click Continue. 15
Removing Users NOTE: Before you can remove a user, you must disable any backups the user has scheduled and save any files that are stored in Web space to a local location. 1. Log in to MyAccount. 2. Select Data Tools. 3. Select Online Backup from the navigation pane. Removing Users 4. In the Allocate Storage list, click the Edit link and set the allocated storage to zero. NOTE: Before you can remove a user, you must disable any backups the user scheduled and save any files that are stored in web space to a local location. 5. To move an individual backup user, click Remove. 1. Select Data Tools 6. A confirmation message will appear: Are you sure you want to remove this user from Online Backup? Click Continue to remove the user. 2. Select Online Backup from the navigation pane. 3. In the Allocate Storage list, click the EDIT link and set the allocated storage to zero. 4. Remove the End User from MyAccount 1. Select the Profile Administration tab. 2. Select Manage Users/Roles/Accts. 3. Click on View for the user you want to remove. 4. Click Delete User. Part Four: Uninstalling Cox Business Online Backup 1. Click Start from your Windows menu located in the lower left of your computer screen. 2. Select All Programs. 3. Select Cox Business Online Backup. 4. Select Uninstall Cox Business Online Backup. 5. When prompted to restart, click Yes.
