Students are responsible for processing charges at the Immigration Department and for their U.A.E. Health Card, as well as the medical clearance certificate. 4. A student s residence visa is normally valid for 12 months. For students engaged on two or three year programmes, there will therefore be a need for two or three visa renewals. The actual processing charges will be borne by the student on each occasion at the existing Immigration Department rate. 5. All students sponsored by the College must lodge their passports with the administration. If you need your passport in order to leave the country or for any other purpose, it will be returned, on application, for the required duration, subject to approval. 6. Where a student wishes to terminate his or her studies prior to the expiry of the visa, the visa will be cancelled immediately and the student will have to make arrangements to leave the country or seek alternative sponsorship. 7. Failure to make suitable arrangements for the payment of fees in advance of each semester may lead to the termination of the sponsorship. 8. Students whose applications are rejected by the Immigration Department will have their tuition fees refunded on a pro-rata basis. Any official processing charges incurred will be borne by the student. Vocational Studies 48 49
