Kodak Asset Management Software Client Module Status and asset settings... 1 Asset Status menu... 2 Asset Settings menu... 3 Handling message alerts... 7 Asset Management messages... 9 The Kodak Asset Management Software Client Module is resident on a host PC that the scanner is connected to. It communicates with the server to provide asset status and look for updates from the server. The client software monitors the asset through the scanner driver on the client s host PC. It also provides warnings when critical events occur and alerts you when pre-defined maintenance or error thresholds are reached. The client software retrieves updates or requests that have been scheduled using the server software. Upon receipt of the request, the client software uses pre-defined functionality to perform the requested updates. The client software may also issue maintenance requests to the server application for processing. Status and asset settings The Kodak Asset Management Software Client Module allows you to access asset status and asset settings. To access the client menu, right-click the Kodak Asset Management Client Software icon in the system tray. NOTE: Depending on the status of the software, the following icons will be displayed: Kodak Asset Management Software is ready. Indicates the Kodak Asset Management software is busy with periodic updates, asset updates, registration, etc. Indicates the current state of an error situation. Indicates maintenance warning. A-61782 August 2014 1

Asset Status menu When you left-click on the Kodak Asset Management Software icon in the system tray, the client s current status will be displayed. NOTES: Status indicators are displayed at the top of the Status menu only if there are general errors. If more than one asset is registered, the last selected asset will be displayed on the Status menu along with any maintenance or error notifications associated with that asset. If you want to view maintenance and error notifications of another asset, select the desired asset from the drop-down list. A Maintenance hyperlink will also be displayed on the Asset Status window. Depending on the scanner type, an Error Notifications hyperlink may be displayed. Clicking on the Maintenance hyperlink will open the Maintenance Settings window. Clicking on the Error Notifications link will open the Error Notification Settings window If the green threshold status icon is displayed, no attention is required. If the yellow warning symbol is displayed, the asset is approaching the designated setting indicating when the asset will require attention. If the red error symbol is displayed, the asset has reached or exceeded the designated setting and the asset requires immediate attention. If a warning symbol or error symbol is displayed for the maintenance thresholds, you will need to perform the required maintenance and reset the setting through the Maintenance Settings window. For procedures on performing maintenance, see the User s Guide for your scanner. 2 A-61782 August 2014

When you perform the required maintenance, click the Completed button to reset the values then click OK. Next displays the number of pages that can be scanned before the next maintenance needs to be performed. This will be a negative number if the maintenance is overdue. Frequency: displays how many pages can be scanned before the maintenance is to be performed. Reminder: when the Next value reaches this value, a yellow warning symbol will be displayed indicating the asset will need maintenance soon. Completed: click when the suggested maintenance has been performed. Error Notification Settings displays the Error Notification Settings dialog box which allows you to view the current error status. When finished viewing the error status for the selected asset, click OK to close the dialog box. A-61782 August 2014 3

Period displays the number of days over which a maximum number of errors (e.g., paper jam, multifeed, etc.) can occur before an error message is displayed.
