Course information Overview This course has been specifically designed to develop the knowledge and skills of people who perform or wish to perform a variety of management functions. It has a strong emphasis on developing managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate own work and/or the work of a team. Award Upon successful completion of the course requirements, participants will be awarded: BSB51107 Diploma of Management Who should attend? This course is suitable for those individuals currently engaged in a management role or those seeking a management role in an industry or organisational setting. Preferred pathways into this qualification Candidates considering this qualification should meet one of the following requirements: BSB40812 Certificate IV in Frontline Management or other relevant qualifications, OR Life or vocational experience but without formal supervision or management qualification 2

Packaging rules Total number of units = 8 elective units. 5 elective units must be selected from the elective units listed in the packing rules The remaining 3 elective units may be selected from any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course at the same qualification level. If not listed below, 1 unit may be selected from either a Certificate IV or Advanced Diploma qualification units must be relevant to the work outcome, local industry requirements and the qualification level. Selecting elective units Students may enquire about alternative electives not listed below. This includes students seeking credit transfer for elective units that meet the packaging rules for this qualification and students seeking to undertake alternative units of competency via distance or RPL. ISI will only provide alternative elective units if we have the training and assessment materials to cover the elective and a trainer/assessor with the relevant vocational competency. Particular emphasis is on setting and meeting priorities, analysing information and using a range of strategies to develop further competence. BSBLED501A Develop a workplace learning environment This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to encourage and support the development of a learning environment in which work and learning come together. Particular emphasis is on the development of strategies to facilitate and promote learning, and to monitor and improve learning performance BSBHRM506A Manage recruitment selection and induction processes This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage all aspects of the recruitment selection and induction processes in accordance with organisational policies and procedures. 3

Unit information BSB51107 8 elective BSBHRM513A Manage workforce planning This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan workforce strategies to achieve organisational goals and objectives. It includes assessing factors that may affect the supply of workers, aligning workforce objectives with business plans, and designing strategies and succession plans to ensure a competent and appropriately diverse workforce is available to meet anticipated changes. The unit covers the research associated with labour markets and the requirement to match organisational needs with employee skills and commitment. BSBRSK501B Manage risk This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage risks in a range of contexts across the organisation or for a specific business unit or area. BSBFIM501A Manage budgets and financial plans This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to undertake financial management within a work team in an organisation. This includes planning and implementing financial management approaches, supporting team members whose role involves aspects of financial operations, monitoring and controlling finances, and reviewing and evaluating effectiveness of financial management processes in line with the financial objectives of the work team and the organisation. BSBWOR502B Ensure team effectiveness This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to facilitate all aspects of teamwork within the organisation. It involves taking a leadership role in the development of team plans, leading and facilitating teamwork and actively engaging with the management of the organisation. BSBMGT502B Manage people performance This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage the performance of staff who report to them directly. Development of key result areas and key performance indicators and standards, coupled with regular and timely coaching and feedback, provide the basis for performance management. 4
Course duration Participants have twelve (12) months to complete the training and assessment requirements of the qualification. This course is delivered using a blended approach of learning. Learners will attend some classroom training, as well as self-paced and assisted distance study. You will have a dedicated study buddy assisting you and encouraging you throughout your learning journey. You will also have fully qualified trainer support available during the day via phone, email and Skype. Study option Price Blended study option $19,600 Recognition of Prior Learning $19,600 VET FEE-HELP VET FEE-HELP is a loan scheme available to eligible students undertaking Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma qualifications.
