MasterCard SecureCode FAQs GENERAL INFORMATION What is MasterCard SecureCode? MasterCard SecureCode is a service from MasterCard International Inc. and brought to you by Rogers Bank that provides you with added protection against unauthorized use of your enrolled Rogers Bank MasterCard card while shopping online. Once you activate your SecureCode, no one can use your Rogers Bank MasterCard number at participating online stores without it. How does MasterCard SecureCode work? Once you've registered and created your own private SecureCode, you will be automatically prompted by Rogers Bank at checkout to provide your SecureCode every time you make an online purchase at participating merchants. When you correctly enter your SecureCode, Roger Bank quickly confirms that you are the authorized cardholder and your purchase is completed. If the correct SecureCode is not entered after three attempts, the purchase will not go through. So, even if someone else knew your card number, they would not be able to use your Rogers Bank MasterCard account for that SecureCode transaction. Is there a cost to register for MasterCard SecureCode? No. There is no cost to register for, or use, the MasterCard SecureCode service. Will I get a separate statement for MasterCard SecureCode purchases? No. All of your purchases made with your SecureCode will appear on your monthly Rogers Bank MasterCard statement along with your other transactions for that month. What is a Personal Greeting? The Personal Greeting is a message that you create when you complete your SecureCode registration. This message should be displayed to you every time you are asked to provide your SecureCode when shopping online. The Personal Greeting is your assurance that this is a legitimate request and that you are communicating with, and submitting your SecureCode to, Rogers Bank. IMPORTANT! If the Personal Greeting displayed on the screen is ever incorrect, you should not enter your SecureCode, but should instead contact Rogers Bank Customer Service immediately by calling 1-855-775-2265, to report a possible fraud attempt. 1
Can I register cards for authorized user? Each authorized cardholder should register their own card individually, and each of you should create your own SecureCode and Personal Greeting. Each authorized cardholder will need to provide the primary cardholder s birth date as part of the registration process. The primary cardholder is the person to whom account statements are addressed. When shopping at a participating online merchant, the SecureCode request screen will show the names of all cardholders who have registered their card. The person who is shopping needs to select their own name, check that their own Personal Greeting is displayed, and then enter their own SecureCode to be verified as an authorized cardholder. What are the system requirements for MasterCard SecureCode? MasterCard SecureCode service can be used from any computer and works with most internet browsers.
