Startup Europe Accelerators Assembly Aim: Support services to promote web-friendly business accelerators and to increase awareness of the existing accelerator programmes in Europe and their benefits among web entrepreneurs. Contractor: The Consortium of Seedcamp, Bethnal Green Ventures, Startup Weekend, and Seed-DB (NESTA is a subcontractor) Relevant Dates / Outcomes: First deliverable, Roadmap of Activities received May 17 th. Venture Capitalists and Business Angels related to the web Aim: To raise Venture Capital's competence in web businesses in Europe. Currently in Europe venture capital is mainly concentrated in 4 Member States (UK,DK, SE and FR) and only 25% of EU VC is invested in consumer web businesses versus 70% in the US. Contractor: France Digital Relevant Dates / Outcomes: First deliverable to be received in September.
Generic Contract DAA2012 follow-up actions. Startup Europe HQ Aim: Design strategic action plans and facilitate the implementation of the DAA 2012 feasible actions that can deliver valuable results in the short-term for the Web Entrepreneurs. Contractor:NLNet foundation, NESTA, Startup Weekend and INCYDE Foundation. Relevant Dates / Outcomes: Detailed Roadmap received in May. Next step is setting the DAA online platform.

For stages 1 and 2: Startup Weekend, Campus Party -> Inspire, educate and empower future web leaders! + accelerator for the last stage + regional players or instruments to ensure fitness into the regional ecosystem The model below could be repeated until the 4 Mio euros are spent 1000 participants at preaccelerator e.g. SW, launch24 50 founders at pitching/ mentoring adhoc events 10/20 promising web startups to go to CF or accelerators and get EC money (option: matching accelerators/p rivate money)

Pre-accelerator + Full/Part Time Accelerator Eg of consortia: Startupweekend, Seedcamp, Springboard Startupweekend + regional players or instruments to ensure fitness into the regional ecosystem The model below could be repeated until the 4 Mio euros are spent 1000 participants at preaccelerator SW events 10/20 promising web startups to be accelerated and get EC grants To add value to the proposal: 2 startups to investigate cofunding via VC/ CF/BA
3. Accelerator + Crowdfunding Eg. Of consortium: Wayra + Symbid -> Web Startup getting the new round of money or validating the business model The model below could be repeated until the 4 Mio euros are spent 20 Accelerator Participants selected according to their usual open calls practices 10/20 promising ideas selected for crowd funding 100% crowd + 30% EC top up if successful campaign
4. Accelerator + Large Companies Eg. Startupbootcamp + health company -> Startups Focusing on Specific Industry Apps The model below could be repeated until the 4 Mio euros are spent 1 Accelerator + Agreement with a Healt company 10/20 promising startups focused on a particular industry receive EC funding 2 startups given the opportunity to have a longer term support from the large companies
H2020 Connecting, accelerating, networking, celebration Platforms (with an online entrance) offering new services by connecting several local ecosystems New creative services to accelerate the ecosystem (for instance, geeks-in-residence) Networking activities to ensure that EU ecosystem is fully integrated Celebration activities to ensure that web entrepreneurship is appreciated in Europe for his contribution to job creation and GDP growth.
