USING THE MEDIA STORAGE UNIT (MSU) To start or shut down the MSU, press the Rocker Switch (ON/OFF) (2.) shortly (0.5 3 sec). Note that shutting down the MSU takes approximately 20-30 seconds. Release Date:23.8.2005 Page: 2 / 7 CREATING AN MSU BOOT DISK 1. Insert a floppy disk into the teacher computer floppy disk drive 2. Insert the LAB 100 software CD into the teacher computer CD drive 3. Run MakeDisk.exe in the MSU\MakeDisk folder on the LAB 100 software CD. 4. The Make Disk program starts 5. Click Set drive, select the appropriate floppy disk drive, and accept the selection by clicking OK

Release Date:23.8.2005 Page: 5 / 7 INITIALIZING THE MSU SOFTWARE 1. In the MSU, switch on the mains power (5.). Do not start the MSU yet. 2. Run Install.exe in the Install folder on the LAB 100 software CD. This starts the MSU Install application. The software update starts to proceed automatically and the following dialog is displayed: 3. If you are absolutely sure that you want to completely remove all data in the MSU hard disks and then install the MSU software, click Yes. After this the MSU Install application proceeds normally and the following screen is displayed: 4. Insert the created boot disk into the floppy disk drive of the MSU (the floppy disk drive may be inside the MSU), and start the MSU by pressing the ON/OFF switch shortly (0.5 2 sec). 5. Note that the initialization procedure will take approximately 15 to 30 minutes. The following sequence of information will be displayed during the installation:

Remove the boot disk from the MSU floppy disk drive. 9. Switch off the MSU power by pressing down the ON/OFF switch (2.) for approximately 4 seconds. Keep the switch pressed down until you hear the MSU shut down. 10. Wait for 10-15 seconds, switch the power on again by pressing the ON/OFF switch (2.).
