Agreement of Understanding By clicking below, I acknowledge my understanding of the following conditions for this application: This application is valid for the 2013 2014 school year Secondary Magnet/CTA students who enroll for less than a three (3) year program or enroll in individual classes are not eligible for sports at the Magnet/CTA for 180 school days. Students who drop from the Magnet/CTA program will become automatically ineligible for sports at the Magnet/CTA for 180 school days. If a student chooses to return to his/her school residence, he/she would be ineligible for the remainder of that school year and for 180 school days in any sport in which he/she appeared on an NIAA roster during his/her attendance at the Magnet/CTA. When the number of qualified student applicants to a Magnet/CTA program exceeds the number of seats available, a random selection process (lottery) will be utilized to accept qualified applicants. As part of the application process, a percentage of open seats are given to 1st choice selections for geographic area, siblings, feeder school alignment, and CTA transportation zone. Second and third choice selections do not receive preferences. Students who apply for and are accepted by more than one Magnet/CTA, may only accept one invitation, and will be removed from other school's alternate lotteries. Applicants are allowed to choose a maximum of three (3) Programs. Ask your parents to read and sign the AGREEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING giving their permission for your application to be screened for admission to the Magnet program and acknowledging their understanding that you must demonstrate acceptable performance in order to remain in the Magnet/CTA program. "Out-of-District" applicants must verify Clark County School District residency at time of enrollment to a Magnet/CTA. This application is valid for the 2013 2014 school year. If selected and registered, students are expected to remain in the program for the entire academic year. Secondary Magnet/CTA students who take less than a standard course load or drop from the Magnet/CTA Program will become automatically ineligible for sports at the Magnet/CTA for 180 school days. If a student chooses to return to his/her school of residence, he/she would be ineligible for the remainder of that school year and for 180 school days in any sport in which he/she appeared on an NIAA roster during his/her attendance at the Magnet/CTA. It is the policy of the Clark County School District to afford equal opportunity in education to qualified students. If you have a disability that may affect your participation in the selected program area, you are encouraged to voluntarily provide information about your disability by attaching it to the completed application. This information will be considered after the initial review committee has completed their application review, for accommodation purposes only. Admission criteria will not be waived, but accommodations will be made where possible to allow you to meet the requirements. All Career and Technical Academies (CTA) are limited to pilot transportation zones. (See Magnet/CTA website for CTA Pilot Transportation Zones).
